Hey thank you Craig, i knew has some topic was talk about it..hahahha.
And the answer is what ever how much memory i got the FSX can only using up to 4Gb.
Also i prefer option 5 when PMDG is real release their plane~
OK. A simple search would have found all your answers you are looking for, as VAS has been beaten to death on here, but because I am in a nice mood I will give you a rundown here.
As Oliver said above, physical memory will make no difference to FSX once you pass 4gb, however it will allow FSX to use the maximum it can by allowing external programs to have a bite of the pie.
VAS on the other hand is virtual memory. A 32bit program will have a maximum of 4gb VAS on a 64 bit OS, less on a 32 bit OS, hence the comment above about a 64bit operating system. FSX is a 32bit program that was built in 2006 and unfortunately that is the way it will stay.
Now there are some ways of working round it. The options are as follows;
1. Turn off scenery that you are not using. Photoscenery will load even if you do not fly over it, airports you fly over load into memory and have trouble unloading.
2. Monitor your VAS usage, when it gets high save your flight, reload FSX and your flight and land safely.
3. Use DX10 with the aid of Steve's DX10 Fixer, this will make FSX use you graphics card for some of the work (short explanation).
4. Move to P3D and use DX11 (see above)
5. Move to Xplane 10 64bit.

One question, about the price. Have another price for existence customer?
Most developer was provide for existence customer, like AS. Orbx even not charge their P3D production for existence customer.

I just saw the message during when i flight to destinaiton airport, computer said "your computer has run
out of available memory", and i research about this VAS problem. And i curious if i buy more physical memory to upgrade my computer memory to 16GB can be avoid OOM ?( I still using 8g)
Thanks -
I have the Cessna Yoke and I have no trouble controlling the aircraft at all. Throttle is smooth and responsive.
James Burke
Hi Jmaes did you separate each throttle?
-
I bought the saitek cessna yoke and notice it's hard to accurate to control throttle with saitek throttle, does anyone had same problem ?
Also i didn't found same situation with PMDG 737NGX and MJC dash8.
-
Hi leel, you meaning can't miss both?
But I can only choose one cause I have no much time to flight both. Like aerosoftt dhc-6 I not fly it since I buy it.
-
Fjsharry, I would buy the A2A B377 before waiting for the DC6. I mean no disrespect to PMDG but I think you might get alot of mileage out of it before the DC6 comes along in my opinion, maybe even have to service your new B377 a few times too!
It will be great to have another high quality large prop, I hope for FSX in my case but others will want it for P3Dv2 I bet.
Well I guess you can practice your navigation and routes in the B377 first before the DC6 appears.
I second what Dave says. It's a great aircraft!
Great plane, isn't it? I think I've gotten more miles out of my B-17, but I don't think I've given the 377 enough of a shot, unfortunately. Both are great sims. Even the start procedures of the B-17 are pretty awesome.
How about coolsky DC-9 class,i still compare both aircraft, one is propeller second is jet, both was old time aircraft.
Have any idea ?

At moment,i was consider should i purchase A2A b377 before PMDG DC6?
-
This picture is show how accurate for the fuel program!
Thank you John!
BTW ASN was work fine fore md11
-
Waiting for this one for long time!
-
Yeah yoke should be better than stick, but my situation is I often moving new house so I can't take yoke cause too big
Also warthog is stable production? I was afraid she will easy to broken...
Logitech extreme I own before, but she broken now
-
I was consider purchase higher level flight stick,i using saitek cyborg fly5,i consider few stick , 1.saitek x65 2. thrustmaster WARTHOG,and which one is good for commercial and GA. I used to flight 777 and A2A c172 or MJC dash8. Have any suggestion for my situation,or maybe have more good stick i don't yet?
Greetings

Hi Jonathan,it's good to see you develop new program for MD-11.
-
Ha i was been for a while not fly FSX,seem jonathan was keep working for fans of MD-11.
Thank you Jonathan!
-
@Jonathan When i select set button then can't see fsx.exe in the pop-up windows.
-
Thanks you Jonathan,i thought i don't do anything for this program, also i use that program to flight from EDDM to ENVA,i set 30min for hold, and then i still remain about 14000kg fuel without any traffic jam.
Seem very good!!
And i found can't setting FSX direct,it's still programing?
-
Here is sample picture to show how i setting RTA,as happened before still got RTA ERROR AT xxx, also i was key in wind aloft and temp data to each waypoints..
Any suggestion?
-
Ok,thanks you Jonathan,i will notice that again, and seem i need to select flap position slowly on next time.
-
I curious what meaning this warning? Amber suqare with flap number on left corner PFD,most happened during landing especially ON FINAL,i was search manual for this situation, but can't find out.

Hi Clark,i used to use REX+ weather engine, and rex+ have real wind aloft capability, also have provide aloft wind data from program,i was tried to enter to FMC,and i can't see what different between before or after enter those wind temp data.
And i love fly MD-11 or Concorde so far.
Hi Fu
My enjoyment of the MD-11 increased a lot when I also purchased Active Sky 2012. AS allows you to set and read 'winds aloft' data so you can enter the cruise altitude temperature and headwind component into the MCDU Init page. This makes "time to arrival" and fuel usage predictions much more interesting than when using the stock FSX weather. You should give it a try.
And I agree that when you keep the FMCs well-informed of your intentions, the MD-11 piloting experience is really cool.
Happy Holidays
Clark
Ha! I didn't know what 'RTA' was so my reply may seem a bit off-topic.
-
Is not question,just discuss
-
I just thought this, and i want know how is it for your situation.
I read FMC manunal from PMDG and some real airline, and notice i just used VERY less FMC function in my past experience(situation). Like RTA,i try to choose specific time to arrival that waypoint, but always get Error...,i still don't know why,i guess FSX need more good weather software to avoid some strange wind change..
Also i found MD-11 have many capability, for example, i just flight from LFPG to EDDM few days ago, have one simmer was front of me during landing(I'am number two) ,so choose Go around to avoid crash.
When i push go around button on throttle, then seem MD-11 know what should i doing..,it's speical experience for me : )
