Hi guys, I know there is a huge forum for this already, but I haven't seen my problem come up yet.
I have recently decided to reinstall FSX and do some flying, as I have been away from the game for awhile now.
My problem is, after reinstalling FSX gold edition (just the base, not acceleration yet) I can no longer get to the main menu. The program installed fine, it activated, but when I click on the icon (running in Admin mode) the splash screen loads, it builds scenery index files (seemingly) succesfully, then plays the first few notes of the menu music, then crashes with the following error report
Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.60905.0, time stamp: 0x44fd0a92 Faulting module name: nvdxgiwrap.dll, version: 8.17.12.6725, time stamp: 0x4d6494e5 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000285a Faulting process id: 0x16dc Faulting application start time: 0x01ce21d5b3201d25 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\CoProcManager\nvdxgiwrap.dll Report Id: fa4c83a2-8dc8-11e2-9220-e89d874c1728
In a previous installation i was having the standard menu issues which were fixed with the uiautomation core fix and I had been flying succesfully for some time before i uninstalled to save hard drive space.
I am running Win7 64bit with an Intel corei7 8gb ram and an NVIDIA GeForce 540M on a laptop, which i know may not be officially supported but considering it was running smoothly and with no graphical glitches last time I had it working I am unsure whether this is the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, not only because it renders all of my payware purchases a waste of money, but because I enjoy Flight Simming and would love to be able to sim again.
Cheers
