Hi folks. Im looking into building a home cockpit, based around the (Iris) Avro Vulcan. I wanna run instruments on monitors and outside projector display. The Iris Vulcan has no 2D panel by default. But it does use the default radio stack as a pop up. I can select a VCless view from the MSFS drop down window. I plan to use Panel studio or similar. I have chosen this Vulcan due to its reasonably simple avionics (i.e. = cheaper), good flight model, and working autopilot. So my question is: Can i add a 2D panel? Useing my simple description, to get what i want. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Thanks for your response. I knew there had to be another way in. But. I have discovered that FSX has been sent to my second monitor, that i use for default GPS, and that monitor was off. What a goose. Thanks again for your prompt reply. Cheers.

Hi folks. Ive built up my i7 beast with NVidia card. Installed all my ORBX stuff and payware planes, running very well on Windows 7 6 bit. Lots of FSX fun for a few months. Then i experimented by pressing the direct x 10 preview, as i had done in the past on other PC systems. When i restarted FSX, i hear the music but cant see the game on top of my desktop. There is an FSX icon placed on the taskbar. All attempts to right/left/double click etc gives me no success. I cant get back into the game to disable direct x 10 preview. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The Avsim site seems to be on the blink for me to. All i get is the top banner and the top menu, including access to the forum. Otherwize its just blank white.Its back now. But there are all sorts of warnings/codes/letters/numbers displayed at the top of each page. Cheers...

Hi folks. Ive got my new PC stuff ready to build soon, and do a fresh/new install. Previously, i use to install FSX Deluxe edition, then FSX SP1, then FSX acceleration. However. I also have a copy of FSX Gold edition with the 2 discs included. My questions are these: Do i have to install SP1 at all? Does the FSX Acceleration disc include the SP1? Does anyone reccomend the FSX Gold discs over the earlier ones? Is there anything in the Gold edition thats not on the earlier discs? Any help or tips greatly appreciated.Cheers...

Thanks for your prompt help everyone. So long as i can make my mind up. I will be getting my stuff tomorow. So i should be looking at a 6 gig kit (3 x 2 gig sticks). It should be tripple channel, as well as DDR3. And low latency is more important than speed ( have noticed alot of debate on this topic). Any futher reccomendations and ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi folks. Im starting my new PC build for FSX. Ive got a huge Coolmaster HAF 932 case with heaps o fans, and a 750 Thermaltake PSU. In a couple of days im gonna get a Gigabyte X58a UD7 MB and an i7 950 CPU with some kind of after market cooling. I plan to also get 4 to 8 gig DDR3 RAM. My questions are these. Which RAM should i get between Corsair, Kingston, Gskill or Mushikin? Is there benefit to getting the 2000 mhz sets, or should i be concentrating on the C number? Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.Cheers.
