Introducing Fly America Virtual Airways
brownshoe, we are currently working on creating a demo site for all to view before we get set up on a permanent high quality host. We will be using phpvms as our managment system due to its ability to be heavily modified and customized. As for ACARS we are still debating between the many options available and will make an announcement when we have decided. Our CEO also called a press conference yesterday to provide some more information:Boston, MA - CEO Joseph Shaw held a press conference yesterday providing some new information. "It has come to the attention of the board of Fly America Corporation that we may have had our eyes set on too big of a startup operation. It therefore has been decided to cancel our purchase of all aircraft that had been previously stated. The board will take a look at instead using Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 aircraft which are more efficient. I would also like to announce that Fly America Virtual Airways will be targeting the low cost vacation and pleasure market as well as business market by operating domestic flights to popular vacation destinations, as well as international flights. We are dedicated to starting with a relatively small route network that utilises routes underserved by other airlines. I will release more information in the coming weeks on our fleet decisions as well as route information. The board has also decided that due to the current state of the economy it is not wise to pump $1.2 billion into a startup airline. Although we have not decided on an exact amount of capital, it will be less than the originally stated number."

Idea for new virtual airline group/alliance
Hi. I have come up with an idea for a virtual airline group/alliance. Here are some details:Current Name: StratoSky Virtual Airline Group (Name can be changed; I am open to suggestions)Current Status: Not operational; trying to recruit interested VAsMain Idea: The main idea is to create a sort of alliance between VAs that is beneficial to them. VAs would be allowed to come and go as they please. Some of the advantages would be: - Complimenting each others route structures - Allow pilots to transfer to another member VA and keep all of their flight hours - Have events on networks like VATSIM and IVAO.Other Details: The group would be run by a board of directors comprised of the CEOs of the member VAs. I would act as the chairman. The job of the chairman is simply to organize the meetings/keep the meetings on topic. (Its not a powerful position). The board would vote on all decisions regarding the group. If you have any questions please contact me at: [email protected] or post a comment here or you can PM me. Thanks. Also, we are very open to all sorts of suggestions. If you have any suggestions please feel free to post them or contact me about them using any of the methods above. Thank you.
