Yikes! I don't suggest doing this, as APX files contain more than one airport and they will all disappear. Here's a kinder and gentler way to fix the issue:

It may take some time for each airport, but it will give you the correct exclusions for each default object.

As an alternative to this (Due to having compiler issues with ADE) I went about it a similar way. Using ADE to locate the "APX" files for the stock airports, I searched for the corresponding "OBX" files for each stock airport in the "Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Scenery" and switched the file extensions to ".off".

In addition to this I was already using Lorby-SI's Addon Organizer to ensure proper placement of everything. Currently every 3rd party airport I was having trouble with is now "stock scenery free". Yes it's time consuming and I know that it's been mentioned on multiple forums, this is what I've found that works.

***Update** Discovered that while the airports no longer have default stock...some of the areas surrounding Downtown for example, the buildings are gone. Tested this for the OBX files surrounding San Antonio and Dallas, TX. Downtown buildings are gone.

#2 - Successfully excluded the stock airport BGL in ADE, recompiled it using the same V5 parameters, and used Lorbi-SI to create a new entry in the scenery config file. It works perfectly(until I find something else)

  2. All those Configs in the "Panel" folder.....you know the ones that have "Panel_wide" , "Panel_4:3" etc.... All the NGX aircraft alias themselves to the 800 panel. Don't know if you know it or not but the "Panel.cfg" is the main file that the NGX uses. If you rename one of those "Panel_wide" or other configurations to just "Panel.cfg" you should see a difference when you load it up.

I havent installed the SP yet, but I had actually adjusted mine to these settings and it worked great for me...[VIEWS]VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL,MINIPANELVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=5.000, 0.000, 0.000VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.8
Another way to try it, that should also work

  3. .But after installing it I had a problem with the 2d panel(when i puted in the 2d panel it was very low it just let me see the ground and i could not see the sky)Has anyone else experienced the problem?
I"m actually experiencing the same exact issue. The problem is ,every time I tilt the view up using the "CTRL Q" command etc....the view will stay...but when I pan around the cockpit from 2D mode...it reverts back to the "low ground" state. This ONLY happened after installing SP1......Did the livery uninstall...then uninstalled the base w/hotfixes.....reinstalled the base only, and SP1 on top of that.Besides that, the NGX actually runs better then ever.....except for this small minor problem.
Just use control+shift+Q to pan your viewpoint up a little.control+Q to pan down.
Tried that, it works but it doesn't stay that way the second you change views...it always reverts back to the "low ground" state.

  4. Robert, You and the rest of the PMDG team have already done such a fine job with everything over the past several years. All of us have waited a long time for the NGX, and honestly....if it takes a little while longer whether it would be a week, a month or even a year it doesn't matter. You can release this when it's good and ready, no rush at all. Take as much time as you need, and take care of your father....i'm sure he could really use you right now. This whole community can relate to family i'm sure.....and family is much more important. The 6/700 series, SP1....it will come out when it's ready, until then be patient. Best wishes Robert, do what you have to do.
