  1. Well how stupid do I feel! It seems I had somehow managed to switch off the X Plane nose wheel steering (as opposed to the button you see on screen under the tiller). After setting a button on the joystick to toggle the X plane tiller steering I was back in control. I did notice that pressing the nose wheel disconnect button on the tiller in the cockpit (the one you see on the screen) , made no difference to whether I had steering on the twist grip - and pressing the X plane tiller toggle (that I configured on the Joystick) did not change the button you see on the screen (in the cockpit). I will leave this here in case it is a help to anyone else getting frustrated with having to steer using toe brakes. All I need to work out now is how to get the throttles to activate again after landing and coming to a standstill.
  2. Ok So I now have the 2,3R4, Some nice additons, but now the nose wheel will not work on the taxiway...It is showing up in the joystick configuation, the slider goes to both Left and Right when I twist the stick, but I get no reading in the Null Zone tab.....All the other movements are fine (its and X52 BTW). Also, if I came to a stop on the taxiway after landing I cannot get moving again, unless I let the AI control the aircraft and then take control back, then I have throttle control again...is that normal?
  3. Hi John, Once again thanks for the help. I purchased the Jardesign A320neo from Simmarket, looking at the FMS it Says ENG CFM56-5-B4 Version Info: V2.0, is that not the latest?
  4. I have experienced a couple of small issues and it could be that I am doing something wrong. I have taken a quick look at the FCOM documentation but cannot see the answer 1 - The last couple of times I have landed, I have exited the runway and then come to stop, which I switch on the APU and do the other stuff I need to do. When I push the throttles nothing happens, the engines don't react and the throttle quadrant does not move - basically I am stuck on the taxiway with no way to get going again. 2 - I have noticed that sometimes when I want to call for the Fuel Truck the button will not switch on, the Load button works, as does the CAT and STR, its just the fuel that will not. However if I use the menu and let AI control the aircraft and then switch off the AI, I can then call the fuel truck. is that normal? John
  5. Thank you for the quick replies. Perhaps I should wait for the Pro version, as I have a servicable A320, that will keep me going for a little while...but then again if the upgrade is a small fee for existing owners that may be a good option. The Boeing 767, may also have to go on my wish list....This X plane stuff is as adept as empying my wallet as FSX was... John
  6. I have been looking at some videos of the FF Airbus 350 which looks beautify and has some very exciting & clever features. I am seriously considering purchasing and having recently moved from FSX to X Plane, I want to be sure that your version is as close I can get to the real thing. When I bought X Plane I also purchased the JarDesign A320, while most of the JD A320 was Ok, there are a number of things that disappoint me e.g. the slightly limited FMC and the number of inoperative buttons. In FSX I had the Aerosoft Airbus X and the PDMG 737, both of which appeared to be modelled with (almost) all fully functional systems. My personal preference is the Airbus, but reading some posts I think that the FF A350 FMC is also a little limited in respect of ALT/SPD restrictions and planning using Airways. Does anyone know if there is intention for FF to release another version or upgrade that will allow the pilot to input Speed and Altitude restrictions with the “Above” and “Below” constraints and allow flight planning via Airways, in the FMC, It could be that this is already available in the Airbus A350 XWD Advanced - A350-900 version or should I be looking at other offerings? John
  7. I am sure there is a really easy answer to this and I am just being a bit of a newbie, so please be gentle with me. A few weeks ago I purchased the Saitek Pro flight stick and pedals. Until now I have been using a Saitek X52 joystick but wanted to get a more realistic feel so too the plunge and bought the Pro Flight stick Yoke system. In the past with my X52 I used the Saitek profiler software to switch between different configurations (prop and Jet). However with the new Flight yoke I have been forced to set up the configuration in FSK ( I could not get it to pick up the Saitek profile correctly). Currently I have the following set up in FSX Throttles Left hand lever = spoilers Centre Lever = Throttles Right hand lever = Flaps For the Yoke I have the Toga button under the left hand back of the yoke Button3 Trim is on the A1 & A2 switch View zoom is on B1 and B2 with dolly left and right on C1& C2 Autopilot disengage is on the red button D This all works great but when I want to fly a prop plane I need to remap the throttles in FSX to cater for the throttle to be on the left hand lever and the prop advance, mixture on the other two levers. Have I missed something in the setup? Does anyone have a step by step guide that would help me? I have seen a lot of threads on the full paid for version of FSUIP, and perhaps I should go that route? Your help/advice is appreciated.
  8. I have spent a couple of hours going through the Tutorial 2 documentation and getting the sequence written down in an easier to read way then printing the whole manual. I now have document that takes me thought all the checks and setups from Cold and dark setup though to touchdown and securing the aircraft. It helps me get things in the right order. I think that for the APU and Engine start once I have run it a few times it will get into my memory – which is the component that fails most often! Thanks for the help and feedback
  9. Firstly I would like to say thank you for all the replies, yes I forgot that this was in Tutorial 2, but still there has been some really useful input Kevinh – your post was really helpful in getting me to understand why I was having trouble Thanks guys I will be writing this down as a procedure to keep me on the right track John
  10. I have been flying the 737 NGX for a few months and have picked up a lot of information from various YouTube videos, is there a “correct" sequence for the overhead panel set up when going from ground power to APU and then from APU to engine start. The problem I have hit is sometimes – after I have started the APU – I disconnect ground power and find that I have no power coming from the APU, even though before I disconnect I check the amps etc in the overhead panel (usually shows 400 coming from the APU. If fiddle about with the recirc fans and the Hyd pups I can get it going so I am doing something wrong. Also occasionally I have an issue with the engine start, I wait for about 20 in the MFU panel but when I lift the cut-off switch it does not seem to start (obviously I have the overhead panel set to GRND and the ignition switch in the correct position). Does anyone have a step by step document that will tell me what order to do each thing? I realise that this is a bit of a noobie question but I am hopeful that someone can give me the correct sequence John
  11. That looks really good, just what I needed. I have spent a lot of time trying to pull something like that together, using information from various tutorials but never seem to get it quite right. Thank you for building a really clear and useful resource. All I need now is something similar for my flight plans to help me program the cdu
