  1. It sounds like some people are upset with free market capitalism. I don't see anything wrong with how Microsoft is going about this, they are well aware of our massive FS ecosystem and are taking the necessary steps not only not disturb it, but to actually empower it.
  2. Yes of course. I have implemented all of the necessary tweaks in my BIOS and my Anti-virus software. I'm just not sure about what to do with UAC since basically all of my addons tell me that they won't work properly unless UAC is disabled, but the guide recommends I leave it enabled, so that's my only conflict right now.
  3. Hello everyone, I am not quite sure if this is the correct forum to post this but, I am looking for someone who would like to take part in a shared cockpit flight with me. I am 19 years old, live in the United States and would consider myself to be proficient with the a320 as well as Vatsim. The only shared cockpit capable aircraft I have is the Aerosoft a320/a321. I also have PFPX, the most recent Navigraph AIRAC and Active Sky 2016. If anyone is interested please do let me know!
  4. Hi everyone, does anyone know which SOP American Airlines uses? Like do they use before the line/below the line checklists?
  5. Hi everyone, I need to interview and profile someone for my college writing class and I would like to interview an airline pilot. Could anyone give me some insight or point me in the right direction on how I could get into contact with an airline pilot? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Great find! I laughed so hard at his astonishment to the throttles moving. And I would actually disagree with you, I think it would be more difficult for a pure-bred 737 pilot to try to land an a320. The FBW and different flight rules (such as FBW basically switching off near touchdown) would be harder to get used to than the dynamics of an all natural 737 in my opinion.
  7. In the US, I have never heard of having to include aircraft type in your clearance request. This information is included in your equipment type when you file a flight plan and first connect to VATSIM. I am not certain whether or not this is required in Europe however if the ATIS states to state aircraft type then definitely do so.
  8. Is there an airline pilot that also flies on FSX/P3D that could give some expert feedback?
  9. I personally believe it would be possible for a seasoned NGX sim pilot to take the control of a 737 with two incapacitated pilots and successfully set up for a CATIII Autoland. However, it definitely would not be possible for any sim pilot to successfully hand fly and land an airliner. I don't think there is anything that would stop someone with the proper systems knowledge from setting up an aircraft to basically fly itself.
  10. Hi, everyone, this is my first post in a couple years. Yesterday I attempted to make the most realistic flight sim video yet. Let me know if you guys have any tips or suggestions for future videos. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/MYtyIEN_1Gw
  11. Alright, thank you Word Not Allowed and Wanabflyer, I will definitely upgrade to 2x4 Gb. And thanks for the tip Jim, I will look into a higher capacity Hard Drive. I do also already own a sound card, speakers, joystick and all that other stuff, all I really need is just to upgrade the core of the computer. Thanks.
  12. Alright, Thank you everyone for all your help. I will be purchasing my parts around Christmas time. And Word Not Allowed, I will definitely use your guide for setting up my rig. Thank you again
  13. Ok, thanks I have taken some of your advice and got a little list going. There will probably be some incompatibilities, but it is a start. 14. Thank you Word Not Allowed for your help. I might actually consider building my own. I am a bit new to this and only helped build one computer. Could you maybe steer me in the right direction with choosing good parts in my price range? Thank you once again.
  15. I do reside in the United States and am intending to purchase a prebuilt one.
