  1. Thanks for the info. One thing I tried to find this out was to just disconnect the SSD signal cable and restart the system. Sure enough, the SSD drive wasn't there and the C:\FSX folder was just empty. So that proves that fsx is only on the SSD drive. I mentioned, I also copied the FSX instead of moving it so I could rename the folder to FSXbku and use it as my backup in case the SSD fails. Thanks, Walt Yes, I see it is completely normal. Thanks for the info. AS mentioned, I also copied the FSX instead of moving it so I could rename the folder to FSXbku and use it as my backup in case the SSD fails. Thanks, Walt You're right, I've seen so many post on how to get this done like registry edits, re-installs etc. When all is needed is this link command. Thanks, Walt Thanks very much. Walt
  2. I Believe I successfully moved my FSX folder from C:\ FSX hdd to my new G:\FSX with little trouble and it seemed to work ok, I think. However when looking at my old C: hdd drive I still see my FSX folder and it seems that every thing I change in my G:\ FSX folder is duplicated in my C:\ FSX. Is this normal when using the mklink /j command? Or am I actually running two FSX's ? I used the "mklink" command as follows" mklink /j "C:\FSX" "G:\FSX" from Jan Vanne's tutorial on moving FSX to SSD. It seems to have worked accept the duplication's. I tried to delete the C\FSX but noticed I was also deleting the same files in the G:\FSX (SSD). The C: drive actually shows that the FSX is there on that drive. Or is that the way it appears to the system even though the files actually reside on the SSD drive? Just want to know is this normal? Also, I did copy my C:\FSX folder to the SSD drive instead of cutting and moving it so I could maintain a backup of the folder. But I did rename the the folder and FSX.exc to C:\FSXbku. That folder seems to be OK and seeming not affected. I'm using win7/64 Walt 0 Selective Quote
  3. Thanks very much!Disabling the whether engine in REX seems to have solved the problem. At least I was able to fly form KDFW to KLAS without white smoking engine thrust.. The smoke does look like cloud textures. And sense it greatly effects the flight dynamics of the ac, I suppose it like having cloud turbulent s coming out of the engines. I wonder if you manually load or start REX after FSX is started. REX over the top of PMDG 747 would that make sense as having the 3rd party add ons to be the last program? Thanks for the helpWalt
  4. Thanks,Removing the third party whether engine in REX seems to have been the problem. After all, the smoke form the engines was the same color as the clouds. I didn't have to have clear skys though. Just disabling the whether engine seems to have done the trick. I'll further investigate why REX (third party whether) causes this. Thanks for the help.Walt
  5. White Engine smoke comes form all four PMDG 747-400 engines after flying for 45 minutes or so. It is white smoke like contrails but but fully blasted from all four engines as if they were on fire or something. It also affects the flight dynamics as the plane become very unstable and unable to follow the flight plan. I have tried the following things to try to determine the problem:1. checked the failure items to see if I was getting some sort of engine failure (not effected)2. tried reloading the flight but even after a computer restart the same smoke conditions occure with the flight that was smoking.3. tried selecting another PMDG 747 with different mfg engines (no effect same problem)4. tried loading my default PMDG 747 FIRST, that is parked at the airport with the engines running. Engine smoke is gone but when I then try to reload the smoking flights, they still have smoke. (this solution was tried a while back and cleared the smoke problem but no longer). The FMC is active with a flight plan and the sometimes get deactivated before smoking. Also, when flying and using the moving map to relocate the aircraft, has also made it cause the engines to smoke. This occurs at any altitude, day or night, time or season, I can reset everything and start the flight over with no smoke until I get airborne and fly for about 30 minutes.I have the following system: I have a Win7-64 i5-650, 4GB, Nvida GTS450, ASUS P8P67-Pro, w/FSX SP2,FSGenesis US,UTX-US,REX2,UT2,Thanks,Any help would be greatly appreciated.Walt
  6. How do you move an in- flight aircraft to an advanced way point along the flight plan? I know this has been answered a thousand times somewhere but please help! I''m a previous user of FSNAVIGATOR for fs2004. Once in- flight I could use my mouse to relocate the aircraft anywhere and along the flight plan. How can this be done using the FSX flight planner or another freeware (would hate to have to pay for FSCOMMANDER) program so you don't have to actually wait for the ac to fly there (way point) or increase sim speed to x16 etc. I know this is an armature question but I'm just getting started with FLight Sim again after 5 yrs.Any help would be appreciated.wvbavsimform
  7. Help anyone,Hresult Fatal Error with with no identified "dll" I've read all the great reports and responses concerning Fatal errors in flight that cause the W7-64 to freeze.
