  1. I'm having a bit of trouble with the carrier of Javier. The carrier is not deck doesn't seem to be visible. It's just gone. I just re installed everything since I reformatted my computer. I used the tweaking guide that froogle advised to used, and I've got some add ons, like FXAA, Shade, REX and FTX Global installed, however, these add ons haven't caused any trouble for me previously. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Image of the carrier deck missing is below.
  2. I'm having a problem setting up my TrackIR 5 with the Trackclip pro. The problem is mainly that when I rotate my head (yaw) and I'm rotating 90 degrees right or left, the roll movement is not detected. I tried rolling my head at 0 degrees, and it works just fine. As I remain with my head tilted to the right, I try yawing/ rotating my head to the right, and for some reason, the TrackIR software gradually straightens my head, as if my head is not rolled anymore (while it obviously still is). If I keep on yawing or rotating my head beyond 90 degrees left or right, the roll becomes reversed. With this I mean that if I roll my head to the right, it rolls to the left. I started to notice this problem in dogfights, when I tried to look behind me and roll my head, but the roll is reversed. How do I fix this problem? I cannot seem to find a fix for it. I tried pressing mirror or invert in the all of the 6dof's. None of them seem to fix the issue. I only noticed that inverting the roll will make it function correctly when I'm rotated BEYOND 90 degrees either left or right, but not when I'm looking straight forward. Then the problem is just reversed. Could anyone please help! Thank you!
  3. Surround is better than my eyefinity, but I didn't have eyefinity 2.0. I heard a while ago that eyefinity is better than surround. Surround is quite good for desktop use, but I prefer switching to extended desktops which takes about 5 seconds
  4. Just an update to this thread for other people. I upgraded my PC with a GTX TITAN and a i7-3770K. I am able to run FSX smoothly at around 40fps on 3 monitors using add ons such as PMDG, REX and FTX global. Sometimes FPS drops to 30 fps, but still stays extremely smooth. Very impressed and pleased! (my i7-3770K is not overclocked!)
  5. I am helping a friend who lives in Brazil. Parts are very expensive there, so he is buying it in Paraguay. He will be using a monitor with a res of 1440 x 900, so I assume this will give him good performance. However, he is thinking about upgrading his monitor to a 1920x1080 res monitor. Here are the parts he wants to buy, please tell me if these will allow him to play FSX with add-ons and decent settings: i7-3770 EVGA GTX 680 2gb XFX 750W PSU Bronze 8GB 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance RAM GA-Z77-D3H motherboard Is this good enough for 1440x900, and perhaps 1920x1080 at high settings with add-ons, such as ORBX, PMDG and REX? Or should he upgrade to lets a i7-3770K and a EVGA 680 4GB? So he can overclock his CPU and have more VRAM for higher resolutions? Thanks in advance!
  6. Wow, great to see so many responses. Thank you all very much for your advice. Obviously, the majority says its worth buying, so I did. I also used a discount code that gave me so 20% discounts on both the superbug and tacpack. I just tried it out and I have to say, I am very satisfied. It is truly an amazing quality bird. Pitty that the sim is so old. I will replace the VRS Superbug with the DCS one once it is available of course. I like BMS as well, I have had it for quite some time, it is just that I cannot work with a simulator that old. DCS is the highest in performance, quality and realism, but unfortunately doesn't have any American fighter jets (only Flaming Cliffs). With FSX, I can give up some performance to get the F/A-18. Falcon BMS only has the realism, which is nice of course, but I prefer the F/A-18 over the F-16 anyways. Thanks for all the advice!
  7. I have had DX10 on some time ago, but it caused way too many problems with add-ons. Many of my add-ons are incompatible with DX10.
  8. I assume this is not a hardware related question, because I am almost certain that my hardware is sufficient. I have been playing a lot of DCS lately, and since the release of the PMDG 777, I have decided to install FSX again. I purchased PMDG 777 and also the VRS F/A-18E including the TacPack. Only problem is that since i started playing, even after using a tweak guide that Froogle referred to, I am getting about 11 FPS at low altitudes. Settings are not maxed out. Only scenery add-on is REX. I am using TrackIR, EZDok camera, 3D lights REDUX and Accufeel. Specs: i7-3770K w/ CM 412S ASUS Nvidia GTX TITAN 6GB Corsair XMS3 8GB RAM 1600MHz Gigabyte Z77X-D3H I've got FSX instsalled on my D drive, which is a 1TB harddrive. I don't think it's my specs. I am using a single 60Hz monitor at 1920x1080. FSX settings are set to 1920x1080x32. I used Nvidia Inspector and a tweak guide, everything pretty much that Froogle referred to in his performance video. What is the problem with my FSX? I am clueless as to what to do. Some additional info, I did a clean install of FSX just when I purchased the PMDG 777 and it worked fine, even on 3 screen (1920x1080 each). A bit on the low side, going to 25 fps minimum, but still quite smooth for high settings including add-ons and a non overclocked CPU. I had to reinstall FSX because it was acting weird, and then I bought VRS and did all the tweaks and stuff. Now I'm getting 11FPS even when disabling all monitors except for my middle one. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
  9. I am a big fan of DCS, but I cannot wait for their F/A-18, as it can take more than a year until a F/A-18 is released. What I want to ask is, is the F/A-18E by VRS worth buying? Or is there a better F/A-18 Simulator? Thank you
  10. Thanks. I'll still go with the Titan cause I can really use the power, but I'll stick to 3 screens then. Thanks!
  11. Thank you. Because I want to go multi monitor on more than just FSX, but also BF4, Arma III and DCS, I think I will go for the Titan. I still have a question for Surround however. I am happy to hear you can put the taskbar and icons in the center screen, but how about the built in speakers for the monitors. Will all three of them work? And do you know if I can use a normal 3mm jack for audio instead of HDMI, because ill probably have my two side screens on DVI. Lastly, can you tell me if it is possible to hook up one extra screen of a different brand and size? For instrument panel? Thanks!
  12. Thank you, but I don't have room in my motherboard for SLI or Crossfire. So it is one of the options I gave earlier I guess. I am thinking the Titan because it has 6GB. Could you also tell me about Eyefinity 2.0 vs Surround what I mentioned above as well please? Thank you!
  13. I want to buy a new GPU for games such as FSX, DCS, Arma III and Battlefield 4. I want to play on my 3 monitor setup, which is a 3x 1920x1080. Plus I might add a small VGA or DVI screen as an instrument panel. The cards I'm thinking of buying are the the 7990, EVGA GTX 680 4GB, GTX 690 or the GTX Titan 6gb. 7990: I most likely wont go for the 7990, regardless of all the positive benchmarks and it being the most powerful GPU on the market. It has only 3gb of mem in total anyways and AMD wont work too well with FSX and DCS, and from what I've seen, Battlefield also prefers Nvidia. Nevertheless, I will keep my options open. EVGA GTX 680 4GB: My friend recently got this, but I honestly don't think it has enough power for the high settings I want to use on three monitors. I'm sure it will be able to handle high textures, since it is 4GB, but I'm not really thinking this would be my final option. GTX 690: I am going to be honest, I don't know much about the GTX 690. It seems to have very good performance, but it only has 2gb of memory per core, which would not be optimal for a multi monitor setup. Plus, many people told me to avoid dual GPU setups (SLI), especially when it comes down to Crossfire, even with their new drivers. GTX Titan 6GB: I hear many people say that the Titan is overpriced, but I think this could be my final option. It is the most powerful single GPU, it has the highest amount of memory (6GB), which is great for higher resolutions, and it doesn't run too hot like the 690 and 7990. However, most benchmarks I have seen show that the 7990 and 690 still perform quite a bit better than the TItan even on higher resolutions, Eyefinity 2.0 vs Surround: Lastly, I want to talk about Eyefinity 2.0 vs Surround. I have had a 6870 and I really like the functions that Eyefinity 2.0 has. One of them being able to use the built in speakers on all monitors hooked up. Additionally, I like how the desktop can stay on the center monitor instead of shifting to the left screen. I would drop AMD immediately if Surround also had these functions, but I just don't know if they do. I couldn't find much information about Surround. I guess these are two questions in one. Out of the top 4 GPU's mentioned above, what is the best for multi monitor gaming and does Surround have the same functionalities as Eyefinity 2.0? Thanks in advance!
  14. Thanks. When I saw your post, I clicked on the purchase button. Got it now and... WOW! Amazing! Works great with my HOTAS Warthog. Cockpit detail is beautiful Great improvement over FC2. Thank you!
  15. I am kind of new to DCS. I have played Flaming Cliffs 2 and A-10C and I'm instantaneously hooked. Amazing simulation! I was wondering if I should pre-purchase Flaming Cliffs 3. If I buy it now, do I only get the Beta. or do I also get the full game when it's released? And is the beta any good? And can I connect to Flaming Cliffs 2 servers with Flaming Cliffs 3? Better than Flaming Cliffs 2? Any help will be appreciated!
  16. Hi everyone, I am new to FC2 and I find it a very fun combat simulator so far. It took me some time to figure out how to designate a target, use all my weapons etc. but eventually I figured out almost everything. I was just wondering what all the different icons were on the HUD and the two screens in the cockpit. I have no clue what they are called. So when I select a certain missile, I can move the target designator to lock onto aircraft. So when I am scanning for these aircraft there are quite a few different icons that appear. There are stacked bars with some space in between each bar, solid single bars and solid dots. I can lock onto each one, but I'm not sure if i'm supposed to fire instantly. When can I fire? What do each of these icons mean? And one more thing. If I lock onto an aircraft and there is a cross through the box, does it mean the aircraft is friendly? Thanks!
  17. Thank you so much! That really makes it much clearer. Just another question. So I heard that Flaming Cliffs doesn't have any "clickable" cockpits. I did hear, however, that IRIS Simulations will be coming with an F-15, F-14 and F-22 for DCS: World. Why does Flaming Cliffs not have clickable cockpits and does the A-10C and all other add-ons for DCS: World have a clickable cockpit? Thanks!
  18. So I read multiple explanations on what DCS actually is, but I'm still unclear about all these modules. So I looked on the DCS website and it said that they sell DCS: A-10C Warthog, however, DCS: World is free. But there is a A-10C Module for DCS: World as well? Because as far as I have seen, I have seen people actually using separate DCS products such as Flaming Cliffs and the A-10C without installing DCS: World. What is the purpose of DCS: World and why are there separate installations, but they claim there are also "Modules". Can anyone clarify this for me please? Thanks! (Edit: Do you need DCS: World to be installed for Flaming Cliffs 2, 3 or the A-10C to work?)
  19. OK. Just got my HOTAS Warthog and I am REALLY happy with my choice! It's amazing! Thank you all for your advice!
  20. Thank you once again. I again read through this review and it is kind of obvious that the HOTAS Warthog is better and more accurate. I will probably buy it tomorrow.
  21. When I hear that the HOTAS Warthog is used by such professional people such as the virtual thunderbirds and red arrows, im tempted to choose it. Is it better? Like in accuracy. Is it better for flying in your opinion.
  22. I guess it's the HOTAS Warthog then
  23. Sorry I think you misunderstood. I'm talking about the X-65F and the HOTAS Warthog, not the X52 Pro. I can understand that the Warthog is much better than the X52 Pro. However, I read on multiple other forums that X-65F and HOTAS Warthog is a matter of pure preference
  24. Has anyone posting here actually owned or used both?
  25. I guess I will have to try it out. I hope Aviationmegastore has it on display so I can actually see and touch them
