  1. Just tried out DX10 and a single GPU...it's not for me I'm afraid and little if any difference in smoothness overall. One thing though I put ForceFullScreenVSync=1 back into the Graphics section of my FSX.cfg and with DX9, CPU and GPU (crossfire) overclocked I achieved the best result so far with smoothness and an average FPS of 27. I'm happy with that so I'm off to fly from YMML to YSCB! Thanks for all the help everyone...much appreciated! Pablo
  2. Hello, I fly DX9 because I've read that DX10 is yet another can of worms that will add nothing but problems. I'll try DX10 later to see if it makes a differance or even a single GPU setup come to that. So far out of all the tips and tweaks suggested above overclocking my CPU to 4430.1 MHz (5900.0 MHz Turbo) and getting rid of ForceFullScreenVSync=1 in my FSX.cfg has helped the best so far with smoothness and an average FPS of 24. Here is my current venetubo cfg... in my PMDG 737. OK - I'll try the DX10 and single GPU and let you know what happens..! Thanks Pablo
  3. OK...thank you for all your tips and advice I'll start adjusting things one at a time and see how I go furthermore, I'll also look into a Nvida swap out for Christmas. Once again thank you I do appreciate the replies. Cheers Pablo
  4. Hello, Am I chasing the impossible..? Despite owning what is I think is an above average pc to run both FSX and PMDG smoothly - I continue to be frustrated by the lack of smoothness at most if not all stock airports during takeoff and landing with an average FPS of 23 when flying my 737NGX instead of the stock Microsoft aircraft where I can achieve an average FPS of 34. For information I do utilise a 3 x 22" widescreen setup using TrackIR and AMD Eyefinity Multi Display with a resolution of 5760 x 1080 @ 60 Hz (Bezel Compensation = 6048 x 1080 @ 60 Hz) and also utilise these additional programs...FSGlobal2010, AS2012 for weather and REX for textures. My only tweaks to the stock fsx.cfg are HIGHMEMFIX=1, a visit to http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html and using an external FPS Limiter set at 30 FPS. To be honest I'd be very happy with something above 20 FPS at all times if it could remain smooth. I wouldn't say I am a FPS junkie but, if I adjust my FSX settings to give me more than 23 FPS when using my 737NGX the world around my flight ends up looking crap. Surely, with a above average pc spec I could expect more or is it as I suspect I am just chasing the impossible..? Any help, guidance or suggestions would be appreciated as I'm slowing losing the plot to control myself and kick the pc out the window. Regards...Pablo
  5. Hey everyone...Well, first of all thanks for the suggestions - however, despite trying SBuilder and even FlattEx which was easier for me to use overall I haven't been able to rectify my invisible object collision towards the end of runway 35L at YMMB. Unless you can suggest anything else that may help me I will have to revert to switching off crash detection - which I don't want to do because after all I want my flight sim to be as real as possible..!OK thanks for your help so far gang!C'ya Pablo
  6. Hey... Does anybody know why when I try and take-off or land on 35L/17R the aircraft crashes into what is an invisible object ..? The reason I know it's an object is because the single green line appears stating 'Object Collision'. I've tried several different YMMB Afcads including the original and nothing seems to fix this error. Any guidance or help would be appreciated from anyone..? Many thanks - Pablo
  7. Victor - Your help would be appreciated as it appears nobody else has experienced this type of problem judging by the lack of response overall. Regards - Pablo
  8. Hi there one and all... Has anyone else suffered problems with TrackIR 5 Pro - PMDG 744 and FS9 VC mode? What I mean is that on several occasions so far when using the above setup I can get so far into a flight then almost by magic and sometimes when switching between VC mode and another view such as fly-by for example - the VC freezes the aircraft engines die and the aircraft falls out of the sky once the inevitable stall parameters have been met. Funny thing is though - I can still click any button within VC whilst waiting to die and I know this because I hear an audible sound however, the button doesn't move in/out or up/down. Once this has happened my only option is to quit FS9 close all other programs running and restart the whole flight again. The pc I run my flight sim on is as follows... System: ASUS P8P67 PRO Motherboard B3 | Intel Core i5 2500 3.3GHz | Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2GB | G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 | Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Retail Pack Monitors: ASUS VE228H 21.5 Inch Widescreen LED (x3) running through ATI's Eyefinity Flight controls: CH Products OK - I'd love to hear from anyone who has any suggestion of why this is happening or more importantly if anyone has experienced what I have in VC mode whilst using TrackIR in FS9 and flying the cargo queen. Many thanks. Regards...Pablo
  9. Thanks Leffe...I thought this would be the problem with FS9 so as suggested I'll will now get hold of FRAPS and see what I can create. Regards Pablo
  10. G'day... Just recently I've tried to video a flight of my pmdg 744 whilst completing some circuit training at YMML in FS9. All went well until I tried to review the saved FS9 video file, and guess what, I can watch the flight from every view but, the sound is awful because all you can really hear over the engine noise is the numerous configuration alerts blasting out for the total flight duration. This is similar to saving a flight and re-loading it at a later date however; at least once the aircraft has loaded all of the settings saved the alerts disappear. What am I doing wrong? Or Do I just need to use a program such as FRAPS to solve the problem? FS9 has always been good enough however, to date I have never bothered with videoing a flight until now...wish I hadn't bothered now! Any help or advice would be appreciated. Regards Pablo
