+1 to the problem. Ok so a couple of months ago i completely stopped playing FSX cause of random freezes or crushes. I had completely no clue why was this happening. Recently i installed FSX again and it was good for a couple of days. Here's my rig : - AMD Phenom II X4 550 BE (4,1 ghz)- GTX 280 SSC- 4 gigs of ram- Win 7 64 bit So basically i fly on FSX, REX, payware planes, ASX, GEX. Im using two common fixes : - DisablePreload=1 in FSX.cfg (removed crushes on plane choosing menu)- Uiautomationcore.dll . I've got 32 bit version in FSX folder (it was supposed to fix the crushes) So recently i made a couple of really long flights (over 3 hours). There were no probs at all. But i've started using "windowed" version of FSX. Guess what, the game ALWAYS crushes or freezes after using windowed mode. It doesn't matter if im gonna switch from fullscreen to windowed for 5 minutes, if im gonna get back to fullscreen, the game will crush anyway up to 30 minutes time. So yeah again, another flight, fullscreen only - no crushes or freezes. So i was like, "hell yeah, maybe i can actually fly this unfinished and bugged #@*#.".But no. Another problem appeared. Im flying online on vatsim, wich also pushes me to using a few other programs. Squawbox, FSuiPC, FS Commander, application for tracking my plane from my Airlines, FS Acars. So yeah, even on fullscreen mode, the game likes to freeze or crush without any reason, because it get's somehow "overwhelmed" by the number of connections to the client. At this point, im just surrendering again, im going back to stable FS 2004. I guess you still can get shiny graphics and terrains on 2004 version and it doesn't crush at all. Freakin Microsoft.
