  1. Im 54 and couldn't care less if someone tells me Im playing as a 15 year old. I'm having FUN, that's all it matters to me.

This is very ture but it starts to get very boring, as soon as it starts to creep in to this forum again it will be back to before this forum got closed.

I have not looked here for a while & the very day I come back for a peek the very frist post that I read is the 15 year old one again.

But me even wasting my time posting here makes me think, hangon I am now acting like a 15 years old, wait he was right all along I am sorry & I take it all back I am a child again :D

  2. As a simple soul that I am, I thought that Moderators read posts & if they are happy that they do not break the T&C or are not just posted to get a reaction then they do not act.

So a Moderator was happy for 'I gotta assume that cockpit-less flyers are 15 years old or thereabouts' to pass, when before such posts got this forum closed down.

As I am over the age of 15 years by far to many years here I am reacting to the said comment.

  3. Negative is fine but what I don't understand is why a member can get away with saying

'I gotta assume that cockpit-less flyers are 15 years old or thereabouts'

When that is a comment that was posted to get a reaction so a reaction is what you get & a mod is happy for it to be said.

Was it not such posts that got this whole MS flight forum closed down for a number of weeks?

    A Negative comment like.

'I gotta assume that cockpit-less flyers don't need to see all the dials to enjoy flying........'

    Will not get a reaction.

I was under the missunderstanding that this was a flying fan forum for fans of flying but I am wrong.

  4. If you only want positive comments about Flight, than you better start your own Flight fan club forum, because that is not what this forum is.

Take note new fans of flying & of MS Flight this forum is NOT for you!

Unless you are happy to read posts like the one below that that call you a 15 year old & a mod is happy to let it pass never mind that the forum owner tells every poster on this forum this.

Your post can only be a request for support, a hint or help for others, or a resource for other FLIGHT enthusiasts to use.

I gotta assume that cockpit-less flyers are 15 years old or thereabouts. Real "siimmers" like to fly planes they were meant to fly. In control, and using instruments. Dont' mean to hurt anyone's feeliings, but that's my opinion. We are not "gamers".

Such as shame, I am still waiting for this place to become a nice welcoming home to new fans of flying.

Looks like I will be waiting still longer or as I have now been told find somewhere else :(

  5. Here are two no sound videos I made of the beta no planes! They is no sound as I made them using time delay.I have one that I have recoreded for 7 hours & have speeded it up to 6 mins of footage. Both can be viewed in 1080HDBoth water & clouds have been updated now in the release.

I see that in the release the buildings now have more detail.

The random pixals are thanks to youtube.

  6. Mountain ManThey are telling people that may want to give MS Flight ago that MS Flight is NEW user frendly & don't be put off with trying this program.'look you can download it for free & don't worry you don't need a joystick to try it out we have made it user friendly as possable for you.'You can try it for free you can also try it with out having to spend any money on new hardware to start off with.So win,win for the new user who want's a taste of flying a plane with zero outlay they have all there tools at there desk already.Once they are playing they can then chose how far they wish to take it & how in depth they what to get with MS flight & DLC.And the facts are not all on your side as 50% of the facts you can't be told, as you DO know why you can't be told as a new (cough) member has just been banned from the very forum less then a hour ago for that very reason.Oh what a shocker they broke the NDA to tell us something bad about MS Flight & used the word 'us'

  7. Enlighten me..
I am asking the member a question, the reason for my question is this part of the post.
As said before, it is not intended for us.
The word 'us' as the hardcore flightsim community.I find it strange that someone who uses the word 'us' is not already part of the hardcore flight community & in turn is not a member of AVSIM forum already as this is the hub for the hardcore community.A fair question?

  8. I happen to know more about Flight than you do. That does not make me important, but it is the truth,And it bothers me that you and others here who "know nothing" first hand about Flight, keep spreading false information and making false accusations about it. Please just give Flight a chance, instead of tearing it down before you have even tried it for yourself.
+1And here is another one that's knows little. Why do some of you feel the need to post such things, do you find Flight a fret to what you already have?
"We" being those of us with the sense to recognize Flight for the steaming pile it really is.

  9. We already know that the game shown at CES is the initial download of Flight. One plane, one island some missions. Log into Live and get another plane and presumably some missions that go with this plane. Get your wallet out for anything else, such as Oahu and the other 3 planes that we have seen in promos.People keep trying to give the impression that the beta testers who are underwhelmed are not being shown the whole product. If some people have been given a peek of some DLC, it changes nothing. People will make their decision about buying DLC based on what they see in the free base product and that seems rather underwhelming so far.
So was the game of flight shown at the CES the finshed product? If so why are we not all downloading it now?The problem is the beta testers can not post want it is like what they do like & what they don't like. There have been some leaks but what a suprise the leaks are from the beta testers that don't want us to like flight who have nothing good to say about it.Otherwise how did you come to this
impression that the beta testers who are underwhelmed
Below is a quote From Tom's blog
My point here is that the flight charateristics of the Stearman are significantly more realistic than the assessment that it is a game and aircraft dynamics and characteristics are modeled for that less demanding audience. If the Stearman is an example of the detailed flight models to come, then the picture is much prettier than some vocal community opinions would concede.
The beta testers that do like flight are the one's that can respect the NDA unlike 'Whatever Dude' who can't but help themselfs but to tell you what they think of it.You can only see one side of the story as the other side can't tell you a word due to NDA.And don't forget this forum is going to be very onesided what's the % of hardcore simmers reading & even posting here?I know someone like me & even posting is very rare as I am not a hardcore simmer I am a new guy wanting to get into simming. But I am learning alot about the hardcore simming community.I think Tom's closing lines of his blog sums it up.
There has been thousands of posts, or it seems like it, bewailing the demise of FSX and any successors that might appear. Of course that is not based on any real "fact" or "direct" knowledge of the subject. Nashing of teeth and arm waving are in my opinion, wasted energy at this point in the story of the Flight Simulation genre'. For those of you who are nashing your teeth, running around with your hair on fire and quickly damaging your shoulders, I have news for you...In the meetings with Microsoft in December, the question of FSX's future was asked.. I can't remember the details of the answer, but I can sum it up by saying that MS has NOT SAID they are abandoning the product or ruling out a future successor. You can interpret that, anyway that you wish.

  10. Interesting read. time will tell where this ultimately goes, however, I for one think MS will want to attract new flight simmers and cater to the hard core as well. I have yet to find a reason why the would not want to cater to both or why they could not cater to both...lets hope I am right!
I am new to Flight sims & want to learn how to fly a plane & all the navagtion ect that goes with it & to make it a real as possable. To me Flight is just what I have been looking for I only need one island to start with same as a new real life new pilot. In real life as a pilot you don't just jump into a 757 & start to fly around the world you start in a small plane & do short flights as you get better you move up to a bigger less basic plane ect & do longer flights. With Flight you start with one island & two basic planes to learn the basics of flight, then as you get better you buy new DLC that you like the look of & that suits the way you want to learn & what you want to learn. You chose your own path.As a new player to Flight sims you & Flight grow at the same pace as the world in Flight grows you get to reach out & use your new learnt skills to fly bigger planes to fly to the new lands. The Icon looks basic & like a car inside but as a new player I still need to learn how to fly it the right way.For the hardcore simmers Flight is not going to be for them on the day of release & I would think it will not be for them for a min of 3 years but they still have FSX .Flight is for a new generation of flight simmers. Like myself. Thats why I posted the thread 'Is the addon niche market about to boom?'re:
    Reads like damage control.
There is a name for posters that make little post's like this.Even images to post up to show you what they are called.
However I'm a beta tester and got bored about a week into it.
You do understand that what you are testing is a boring repetitive beta test to find bugs & you are not playing a demo of the finshed game of Flight?

  11. Out of the top 10 PC games of 2011 voted by players.7 have payable download content soon be 8 as one of the games only came out 2 months ago.there's nothing new about having to pay for DLC with PC games be it extra levels, maps, skins, weapons. And sims here are a fewRailworksHas DLC 91iRacingHas DLC 64Farming sim 2011Has DLC 3& for all you hardcore players out there we haveThe simsHas DLC 9And some 2010 & older games we haveCivillzation 5DLC 11BorderlandsDLC4Fallout 3DLC 6

Thus I predict there will never be a SDK for FLIGHT released by Microsoft
I thought that's what everyone has been saying for the last 2 weeks & longer on this forum including youbut then yesterday you said.
If FLIGHT flops and fails to capture the target audiences' five minute attention span and doesn't produce the DLC sales and revenue volume the VPs have projected then MS will have no choice but to give out a free SDK in hopes that the 3PD might be interested in reviving it. And we will be standing there ready to take back a cheating lover (FLIGHT 2012) for sloppy seconds.

  12. That just goes to show that money talks a lot louder than words.
Welcome to Flight Ontario. The home of freeware Canadian scenery designers for Microsoft Flight Simulators. Yes the good old days just the way the MS FSX SDK was ment to be used to make freeware software not to make money off the back of MS & in some cases alot of money as we all know. It's funny out all the 100's of games over the year's & the 100's of software made by 3PD wonder why the FSX 3PD thought they would put a price on there software while 100's of others did not & they did it all free in the spirt of the community.what's the bet MS was not expecting that to happen,& you still wonder why there's no free SDK for MS Flight this time round.Just think if 3PD never charged anything in the first place for there software, & did not make a risky business on the back of a SDK that they have no control over when the owner of it (MS) can take it all away from them as fast as they gave it to them, never charged anything in the first place then they would now be falling over themselves to work on MS Flight as for the first time ever they would be getting paid for there work.Do you really think MS released the FSX SDK to be used by (some) 3PD to make big profits from it with no return.

  13. Thats what happened as soon as these greedy 3rd party Dev's. knew they were out of luck..
Don't tar with the same brush all of the 3PD's. A lot do make software just for beer money or to cover the cost of getting plans & such.I only mentioned ONE 3PD as that was the only one that I had FACT's to back up my claims. Also some 3PD sell far more software then other's.
