  1. Looks like an oversight on my part as the engine pods on the 800's and 900's aren't modelled, according to PMDG support, due to fuselage length rendering them non-visible from the flight deck. Different story with the 600's and 700's.
  2. Hi all, As the title says I am missing engine views on NGX 800-900. Strangely though I can see them on the 600/700 expansion. I'm specifically referring to the virtual cockpit view where you can look back at the wing and see the engine pod. I can see the wing but no engine hanging from it. I have attempted to reinstall both programmes but this has not helped. I use a camera add-on programme called EZDOK and I did run to config process after reinstalling but no difference. I eventually uninstalled EZDOK but still no engines. I'm confused as to why I can see them on the 600/700 though. Is it likely a problem with the installer for the 800/900? I noticed that after reinstalling I was not required to enter the key as presumably it is retained on the system. Is it possible to completely remove NGX so as to try a clean install? My system is: W7 64bit FSX SP2 4GB RAM i5 @ 4,6 GTX 460
  3. Thanks dazz, odourboy and ant_1984 and everyone else. Much appreciated. Tweaks in progress.
  4. Hi. Thanks, will try this. Current settings are: And screenshot (Note: FPS in this instance was 14.1. Clearing the weather saw FPS shoot back up to 30.):
  5. Thanks for the reply guys, it's much appreciated. Will try an upgrade this coming week and report back.
  6. So after several months of no FSX (I said FSX!) I have reinstalled it on the 120gb SSD. The machine is W7 x64 with a GTX460 and 4GB ram. It is an i5 able to run at 4.6ghz. Tweaks-wise I run texture max loader and and external FPS limiter set at 30. By and large it seems very stable and an adequate performer. I am a layperson but interested nevertheless in seeing which hardware component will max out first. I know that FSX performance is largely a question of CPU speed but I was interested to see what was causing a drop in FPS to around 8. It was clearly to do with REX weather generating some angry looking clouds but when changing a view to one which doesn't involve looking at the sky (internal for example) the FPS shot back up. No here's my question: would opening task manager to view performance reveal anything? I did that and could see Memory at about 2.8 ish and CPU at 50-60% spiking occasionally. Therefore I think that maybe the graphics card is the limiting factor. Would anyone agree or is this a flawed test?
  7. Engines sounds are normal through flight. On landing I select reverse (F2) then deselect (F1). At this point I lose engine sound. All I get is ground rumble and environmental sound. Spooling up to full power there is no sound, just more rumble as speed changes. Engines are working and develop power. My spec:Core i5 @ 4.6ghz4mb ram120gb ssdGtx 460FSX sp2 accelRex2 overdriveEzdok
