  2. Could it have anything to do with the way I plug/unplug headphones in throughout a flight?
  3. I spoke too soon, 11 hours into a 12 hour flight I get this: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14 Faulting module name: PMDGSounds.dll, version: 10.0.61355.54, time stamp: 0x48f0928d Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000ead2 Faulting process id: 0x840 Faulting application start time: 0x01ce2b2c76869d46 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\DLLs\PMDGSounds.dll Report Id: e1fc74d2-9775-11e2-9722-005056c00008 Rendi you spoke of a corrupt DLL.XML, what can I do to rectify it? Regards David
  4. Rendi's suggestion seems to have done the trick, for now! Thank you. Mind you, I do seem to have lines appearing down the screen every now and then in built up areas where I think the graphics card is struggling, but not crashing, which is the main thing. I can live with lines. ^_^ I will try your suggestion too Jim, just to see if it gives me better results, but thank you both awfully for the help & advice; just the ticket. Kind Regards David.
  5. Also had this as a CTD the other night, not sure whether it is related though. Was flying the PMDG 744. Regards David
  6. Good evening and hello. I've recently invested in a new graphics card, the old one was blacking out, and trying to fine-tweak my FSX to get the best out of it all, but I seem to be getting CTDs both loading DLLs and "run out of video memory" errors. It's really very frustrating & usually takes place on descent/approach at the end of any flight longer than say, a good hour. I realise it's a matter of trying and testing but I wondered if any of you had some suggestions? My FSX CFG: My specs: Intel Core i7-3820 OC @ 4.625Ghz EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked 2GB OCZ Blade 10GB DDR3 @ 2000Mhz CL 9-9-9-30 256 GB Crucial SSD 1TB WD Caviar Black HDD Many thanks for your help & advice in advance. David.
