  1. In my PMDG-747 I intend to use a yoke button to arm the Autothrottle. ( Saitek Yoke ) I went to FSX--> Option --> Settings --> Controls --> Button/Key. The indication to arm the throttle is a key combination "Shift + R" However when pressing "Shift+R" nothing happens and I wonder why. Does anybody have an answer ? Antonio30
  2. I finally figured it out by trial and error. Many thanks to all of your for the great help.Antonio Vernas
  3. Thank you.Can you help me with a specific example.Assume I fly and then decide to fly over a VOR which is about270 degrees from my aircraft location.According to you enter the course but the question is which one and how do I determine it ?The course to the VOR changes constantly as the aircraft moves. And how about the intercept course ?I know it must be easy once you know it but on the other hand I notice different opinions. Can you provide a step by step instruction ? Would be very much appreciated.Antonio Vernas
  4. For whatever reason I just don't get the VOR approaches with the MD-11.( I have no problems with ILS approaches )Is it possible to set up a VOR in such a way that the autopilot flies towards andover the VOR without any input from the captain ? Basically like a LOC approach.Thank you againAntonio Vernas
  5. It seems I have no Auto.10.24 in the Systems manual.By AUTO I assume you mean Autoflight.Antonio
  6. When I fly a VOR approach I notice an option "VOR arm" on NavRadio ( LSK2L ) after Ienter the VOR frequency on LSK1L.What is the purpose of this "VOR arm" and what does it do ? And what happens if leftout ?I went through the manuals without finding an appropiate answer. Can anybody explain.Thank youAntonio Vernas
  7. I just cannot achieve it and wonder if anybody could try it and let me knowif successfull. My goal seems to be simple:Fly to an airport, execute a GoAround, ( all by Autopliot ),then fly the HOLD,exit the HOLD and land at the same airport. The GreenTape should appear before the finall landing somethingI never get, regardless of what I do.If anybody has time to perform such a flight and let me know aboutthe results it would be greatly appreciated.Thank youAntonio Vernas
  8. Thank you. ( I always appreciate your fast answers )
  9. Before take off the spoiler has to be armed in order to get the Green Tape. When I cruise I put them into disarmed position ( DET )Now I find that in order to autoland it is not sufficient to just arm them again becauselanding like this would not deploy spoilers on touchdown.I have to deploy them for a few seconds, then arm them again and now thesystem works. ( Spoiler deploys upon landing )I would be curious to know if other people have the same issue or is it just me,meaningthat there is a bug somewhere.Antonio Vernas
  10. I fly to an airport ( LSGG to be precise ) using an autoland.Prior to landing everything seemsto be configured correctly ( spoiler armed, autobrake on ) since I get the green tape andthe green Dual Land indication. Now I execute a GoAround, setting flaps to 28 and remain in the Holding Pattern.I edited theflightplan allowing me to return to the airport. After exiting the HOLD I fly back, set APPRLAND and prepare to land.To my surprise there were two problems:1) No green tape appears. The green DUAL Land appears2) Upon landing the spoiler did not deploy.( even when trying with my keyboard command nothing happened.) One the aircraft came to a still stand I was able to activate the spoiler with my keyboard command.I did not change the configuration I had prior to the GoAround, namelyspoiler armed, autobrake on.Would anybody have a clue of what is going on and how to make it work.Antonio Vernas
  11. After executing a go around the aircraft climbs to a holding pattern and circles around. So far so good. But how can I program the MCDU to return to the airport using the LOC/GS as on thefirst approach. As it is the MCDU let me not doing anything. ( see attachment )The aim is to return to LSGG which is the destination airport.Antonio Vernas
  12. In my hometown Milan,Italy I see rwy designations for the Malpensa airport such asILS X rwy 35LILS Y rwy 35LILS Z rwy 35LWhat does the X,Y,Z indicate ?GraciaAntonio Vernas
  13. I will do a few flights and use the above.May be more questions will pop up in which case I contact you again.I like to do things the correct way.
  14. Hi,are these the max speeds at which the gear, flap may be extended. In other words: do not extend them above that speed buy you may do so belowthat speed.Ex: Speed 270 One cannot lower gear,Speed 260 or lower: one may lower gear.Same with the flaps. Is this correct ?Thanks againAntonio Vernas
  15. Me too I am somehow confused as to perform an autoland.I studied the Swiss LondonZurich tutorial and it states to go to flaps 15 before capturing the LOC,then uponGlideslope to deploy flaps 28,then gear and flaps 35.Nothing regarding the speedtape symbols are mentioned. In this Forum I read quite a bit about them. But still confused ! ( sorry, newbie )Therefore I prefer to go step by step regarding further questions.I include a screenshot and my question is:What does the amber SE ( at 278 knots ) stand for and what action is required ( if any ) ?What does the amber GE ( at 260 knots ) stand for and what action is required ( if any ) ?That's all for todayThank youAntonio Vernas
