  1. i didn't film that so i don't really know, but it doesn't really matter, the dude should've go around. thanks.

You can't really tell the whole story with that video....

    like...

Was that his first attempt at landing? If not he might not have had enough fuel to do another go-around..

and from that angle it's a bit hard to tell on how much runway he actually had left..

  2. the aircraft engines keep setting on fire even when the engine fire box is not checked in the configuration program what am i doing wrong.

Well I can think of a few things that could cause this....

1.Trying to start the engine with props in the feathered position.

2.Forgeting to move the condition lever from taxi to flight prior to takeoff.

3.Not monitoring engine exhaust gas temperatures.

  3. Hi.

I have been flying the 747 for a while now and understand enough to get me by using the FMC. I also have the FS2 Crew add on. Using this I normally start a 747 flight with the panel state that FS2 crew give you.

I'm not sure but that might be part of the problem.

Also Are you using the default fsx load manager of pmdg 747 load manager to set your aircraft up?

  4. Type in msconfig in the windows search line at the bottom of the start menu>go to tools and it should be in the drop down menu.

Just be aware though if you have installed fsx in the default directory- C:/program files(86) disabling UAC control will not completey disable all security features. You could still experience problems.

Best thing to do is install fsx out of C: drive in it's own directory.

  5. if you don't like a thread, don't read it or post in it.

I think that pretty much sums it up. Well said Ryan.

I dont think that the problem is people with low experience posting. The problem is more the very hostile environment that for some reason have developed. Inexperienced posters is fine IMO

It doesnt matter where you are on the internet or what forum your on there will always be idiots, just ignore them.......................................................................

  6. hi thanks

    MrKen

every time i to set an altitude the altimeter set to some other number , at first is 29. something in other words correct . But when am up in the air flying it goes back again set wrong very wrong . So wrong that when the ATC tells me to climb to FL20 on my panel is said am climbing to FL20 but i doesn't reach to that altitude

    Maybe a screenshot might help.................................

  7. I use affinity mask setting of 1344 and it seems to give the best results out of all the settings I've tried. Since your system is very similar to mine and you have HT enabled maybe give that number a go and see if it helps.

Also it might be worth running your fsx cfg file through "bojote's tweaking tool" if you haven't already done so, this improved my FPS considerably.

  8. Believe it or not mate, a lot of airline pilots are paid purely by the number of hours they fly and have no set wage, so if they don't operate that sector, the go home empty handed... Google the brookfield contract from ryanair and you'll find out all about it...

I thought this was the norm, getting paid by the hour that is.......... So a pilot earning potentially 60-70 dollars per a hour might only see an annual pay check of say 40-50K per year due to the number of flight hours they accumulate. Is this correct?

What percentage of companies do a set pay then? I'm assuming mostly privatised companies would go with this approach since the bigger airlines are all about cutting costs and sheding pilot hours.

  9. Ahhhh yes....... I know what your on about, that would be RC4 that has the callouts. I think there's an option in the RC4 menu to disable it.

Though it doesnt bother me much because I often forget to reset the altimetre setting so it's a good reminder.

  10. I have noticed that on real planes too. Why does that happen?

Not sure why this happens in the sim, but lights dimming or flickering in the real thing could be caused by a reduction in voltage due to the switching of certain loads in the aircraft.

  11. FSL is very far along on a a320

    So they say........

Have you tried the FSL Concorde? AFAIK it's a good one, haven't tried it myself. Not a big fan of the Concorce, I mean, it's nice and interesting, but nothing I'd really want to fly with.

    Highly recommend it!

But Be prepared to sit on the tarmac for the next fews days learning the basics of the concorde.

Would love to see orbx do a few more aussie airports, Adelaide or Perth would be awsome. I saw someone recommending Sydney airport that would be great but, considereding the default is pretty hard on frames can't imagine what a full scale representation of Sydney would be like. I recon it would bring the most monster of rigs to there knee's.

Though there airport quality is second to none, Imho Orbx has been lacking abit in Western Australian airports so I'd love to see.

    Kalgoorlie

    Geraldton

    Broome

    Karratha

    Portheadland

and thats just to name a few.

I know its a long shot but hey I can dream cant I :Peace:
