  1. So what is your problem exactly? The "cursor" is suppose to turn into a "hand" when placed over any area of the VC that is functional....
  2. Yeah I know the 800 can be a pain to slow down at times. I usually plan to level off before atc assign my next altitude so I can bleed off allot of that airspeed, once at a stable speed I will put down 1-2 degrees of flaps and then wait for atc to issue me a new altitude.
  3. Boxed version or downloaded? The downloaded version will already include the lastest service packs....
  4. You can't really tell the whole story with that video.... like... Was that his first attempt at landing? If not he might not have had enough fuel to do another go-around.. and from that angle it's a bit hard to tell on how much runway he actually had left..
  5. Well I can think of a few things that could cause this.... 1.Trying to start the engine with props in the feathered position. 2.Forgeting to move the condition lever from taxi to flight prior to takeoff. 3.Not monitoring engine exhaust gas temperatures.
  6. It will be displayed on the navigation display as "ground speed".
  7. Get yourself a mouse with a scroll wheel and then you won't have these problems....
  8. Have you confirmed your V speeds in the FMC? Once they are displayed in the FMC you then have to manually select each one by clicking the adjacent key.
  9. I do believe it cuts out the gear down warning horn, but will only work some of the time not all.
  10. Have you tried disabling the REX water textures?
  11. Type in msconfig in the windows search line at the bottom of the start menu>go to tools and it should be in the drop down menu. Just be aware though if you have installed fsx in the default directory- C:/program files(86) disabling UAC control will not completey disable all security features. You could still experience problems. Best thing to do is install fsx out of C: drive in it's own directory.
  12. I think that pretty much sums it up. Well said Ryan. It doesnt matter where you are on the internet or what forum your on there will always be idiots, just ignore them.......................................................................
  13. Unfortunatley that was not a miracle..............................................far from it indeed. All I can say to Miracle is................ :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO: :Loser:
  14. I use affinity mask setting of 1344 and it seems to give the best results out of all the settings I've tried. Since your system is very similar to mine and you have HT enabled maybe give that number a go and see if it helps. Also it might be worth running your fsx cfg file through "bojote's tweaking tool" if you haven't already done so, this improved my FPS considerably.
  15. I thought this was the norm, getting paid by the hour that is.......... So a pilot earning potentially 60-70 dollars per a hour might only see an annual pay check of say 40-50K per year due to the number of flight hours they accumulate. Is this correct? What percentage of companies do a set pay then? I'm assuming mostly privatised companies would go with this approach since the bigger airlines are all about cutting costs and sheding pilot hours.
  16. Ahhhh yes....... I know what your on about, that would be RC4 that has the callouts. I think there's an option in the RC4 menu to disable it. Though it doesnt bother me much because I often forget to reset the altimetre setting so it's a good reminder.
  17. Not sure why this happens in the sim, but lights dimming or flickering in the real thing could be caused by a reduction in voltage due to the switching of certain loads in the aircraft.
  18. So they say........ Highly recommend it! But Be prepared to sit on the tarmac for the next fews days learning the basics of the concorde. Would love to see orbx do a few more aussie airports, Adelaide or Perth would be awsome. I saw someone recommending Sydney airport that would be great but, considereding the default is pretty hard on frames can't imagine what a full scale representation of Sydney would be like. I recon it would bring the most monster of rigs to there knee's. Though there airport quality is second to none, Imho Orbx has been lacking abit in Western Australian airports so I'd love to see. Kalgoorlie Geraldton Broome Karratha Portheadland and thats just to name a few. I know its a long shot but hey I can dream cant I :Peace:
  19. Try typing NGX(or something along those lines) into your search line at the bottom of the windows start menu. 800/900 series is the base pack so yes if you want all models then you are going to have to install the 600/700 seperately.
  20. Yeah bit confused aswell. Are you talking about heading hold and heading tracking fuctionality of the AP?
  21. I do believe the 2 most common settings for texture max load in the cfg file is 1024 or 2048. Try one of those two.
  22. Also I noticed you've got your engine de-ice on, that wont help the situation. Turn it off, your at 29000 ft you dont need it on anymore.
  23. I think its purely for saftey reasons, so if any one of the ground crew working on the aircraft accidently touch one of the probes they dont burn themselves.
  24. Have you got the APU gerenator running?
  25. Yeah I'm a bit confused aswell Noel, You spent all that extra money for full systems simulator then expect to be able shortcut the systems that make it a full systems simulator in the first place..... Interesting :Thinking:But hey each to his own suppose. It really doesnt take that long setting it all up from cold and dark. It sounds like you've been a bit overwhelmed by the complexity of the aircraft to be honest, Noel read the manual mate and do a couple of the tutorials included with the NGX and I can assure once you've had enjoyment of setting it up from a cold and dark state you will be hooked. :(
