I completely agree with you guys and for years have been following what used to be *******' tweaks, Word Not Allowed's guide, and now the new Avsim guide.  The problem I see when trying to do this is that, depending on which information you are listening to and when it was written, some of it is completely counter-intuitive.  In addition, so much depends on the exact hardware set up that you have - what is your proc speed, overclock, how many cores, what is your GPU, how much RAM do you have, what are your memory timings, DX9 or DX10, ATI or NVidia, inspector settings, etc, etc.

The good thing is that we have so many passionate folks within the community that are willing to help and offer their experience and advice regarding what the possible remedies are.  I could spend hours, and have spend hours just browsing old posts to find out what might be causing a particular problem, and then spend hours tweaking the .cfg and graphics settings to find that perfect balance.  And to be honest, I actually love it, and that's why I continue to upgrade and tweak and fly some more.

I'm very lucky that I have been flight simming since I was about 10 years old back in the days of FS 4.0.  It must be quite a daunting prospect for someone just getting in to the hobby to sift through the madness.

With that, I would like to say thank you again to all of you and I feel pretty confident that we can close this topic....that is until the next user can't quite get it right :-)
