  1. Hi all,

I just moved to REX Skyforce and have the same issue when looking right at the sun during dawn/dusk.

What has made the FPS loss less heavy for me was turning down the shadow quality from Ultra to medium in P3Dv5. I did not touch any other textures.

This made FPS managable between 40-50 whereas if i pan the camera to have the sun behind the camera I get 60-70 FPS at Flytampa EHAM with the PMDG 777. before turning down the shadow settings my FPS were like 10-20 when looking at the sun.

Have you tried assigning the zoom controls in ChasePlane instead of using the simulator’s controls?

How do you this is? can you please be a little more explicit on how to do this?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,

  3. Hi all,

PMDG has updated their 777 friction model some time ago, but in my opinion it is still not up to par with the 747V3 or competitor products.

    Examples are:

    • Light weight (after landing) taxi on idle- or low engine power, nearly impossible.
    • stopping distance with the autobrake upon landing, is this realistic? Compared to the 747 it feels as if the 777 stops within a heartbeat, while the 747 takes it's distance.
    • starting taxi requires quite high N1 before aicraft starts moving. Does anyone get this too?

Is this something that PMDG will update in the future? or will there be a more general update to bring it up to par with the 747V3?

    Let me know!

Nope. I don't expect major updates (which this would be, as would be anything related to flight dynamics migrating to outside the box) to the 777 product until after the 748 and probably after the NGv3.  I agree, it would be nice but there's not been a forecast time by PMDG for this to occur.

Hmm, so where did I read this then...

  5. Hello,

With the introduction of the new 747-400 and (hopefully) soon the 747-8 there has been an introduction to a new and, if you ask me, improved friction model. I remember reading somewhere that PMDG might roll this update back to the 777. Does anyone know whether this will still be done? And when might that be?

Hoping for some more realistic landings in the future! Thank you!

  6. The very first post in this thread stated that we had provided it to Aerosoft. The rest of it is up to them, really. Several people in the forum here reported that they had gotten the update, so I'm not sure what more you were looking for.

    How about Easter eggs?

it was only to tell it was there. Nothing PMDG should or could do.
