I hope this topic has not yet been discussed.
I am trying (any reason) to add an AH (artificial horizon | attitude indicator) instrument to the panel of a glider plane.
Let us not discuss if this is "realistic", useful, or a waste of time.
I just would like to know how to do this.
I know how to install an instrument to a panel in FSX.
I know the standard AH instrument requires an engine running to provide a vacuum/suction in order for the AH to run. After all it is working thanks to the gyro characteristics. But, there are obviously "no" engines in a glider, so "no" suction.
In real life there are suction-driven gyros and electric ones (for backup purposes).
Perhaps in FSX this can be also simulated.
I was hoping that these lines in aircraft.cfg would solve my problem:
[attitude_indicators] //Type: 0=None, 1=Vacuum Gyro, 2=Electric Gyro attitude_indicator.0 = 0 Alas changing this value to 2 (Electric Gyro) does not have any effect.
Perhaps I am changing the wrong parameters.
Or it depends on the coding of the AH gauge (I have already revised several AH .XML file, but no hints)
Or perhaps it is not possible.
