When FSX loading screen comes up it goes through the sequence and reaches 100%. I can hear the sound of the aircraft but the screens remain black and the 100% window remains in view. If I call up task manager and click on FSX I get all three screens showing but the sound has stopped. This only happens with some aircraft, not all.

Thanks again Jim I will track down that file after finishing downloading DCS World and associated modules. I only have a slow basic BB connection take hours!! I am using Just Flight Traffic X, Military & Civil. Will try to change settings later. Things are definitely better thanks to your assistance. The other strange one I had last night was when flying the 707 I got multipul views on one window, this hasn't happened again. How do I add photos to a post? Back to DCS after a curry! Andy

Hi Tom Still not finding the FSX.cfg file (WIN7) Andy Noticed a strange thing last night while sitting on the taxiway at an airport. I saw what I thought were rabbits moving across the taxiways. The seemed to move at a fairly constant speed and in straight lines! It then dawned on me that they were the wheels of AI aircraft. Anyone come across this and more important how to correct it? regards Andy

Hi Jim I'm back in now and had a few flights with various aircraft, default and add-ons. Had a couple of strange things but just exited and restarted. Norton 360 tells me that FSX is using 100% of CPU every now and then. How do I access the FSX.cfg file? Oh while your there how do I set my default location to where I want not Friday Harbour? Andy

Hi Jim I have spent the afternoon going through your list. I stripped out scenery, No joy. Tried system managed size for Virtual Memory, No Joy. I eventually downloaded Reg Clean Pro and System Opimizer 3. My system is not crashing when I use the esc key or exit fight in the menu. BUT! My add on aircraft are now skeletons!!!! I'm flying bits of aircraft around the sky? Default aircraft seem to be OK. Any suggestions? Andy

Hi Jim This is very interesting and most helpful. I have heard about video driver problems and will check it out. Memory, this is vey interesting as I do have a lot of additional scenery(Horizon generation X) and aircraft too many to mention. I have had a couple of waring windows telling me that FSX is using a great deal of memory so I am inclined to go down this route. Failing this I will try the FSX.cfg change. We will get there! Hi Jim Sorry for putting this in wrong place, new to all this! I tried the the uiautomationcore.dll into the FSX folder but no joy. I've checked my Microsoft.net framework and have V1.0.3705 V1.1.4322 V2.0.50727 V3.0 V3.5 V4.0,30319 I also have the file in the System32 folder V7.0.0.0 There is also a 64 bit version Where to from here? regards Andy

Jim I have the same problem. How do I find the aircraft that is causing the problem? I have over a hundred on the SSD. regards andy
