I've been wanting to fly in FSX for the longest time. I have flown in FSX from time to time but I haven't really done a complete flight due to low FPS. Over the years I have bought better running PCs. The one I have right now is a Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit with a quad core processor running a 2.83Ghz. 8G RAM, 232G hard drive, Intel® Q45/Q43 Express Chipset display adaptor. I've been playing around with the target FPS in FSX. I set it at 25 FPS but I get a lot of frame rate hits and it lags. I set it at 33 FPS at one time and I was getting 33FPS but again I was getting frame rate hits and lagging. I set the sliders in FSX where you adjust the aircraft and realism settings to where I won't get much lagging but yet again I still get lagging.
I want my FSX to look real as possible, I have an eye for detail in flight simulators. I will be getting the Orbx scenery for FSX so this lagging is no good. I know if FSX is lagging now without the Orbx scenery then I know for sure it will be lagging just as bad with the Orbx scenery. So, I mean why is my FSX lagging when I have a quad core running at 2.83Ghz? and with 8G of RAM? I seen a gaming PC on Amazon for a good deal going for $530. So I may just end up getting a good gaming PC that has a processor running at 3.80Ghz.
