  1. I've recently acquired a second monitor. I'd like to use it to expand my virtual cockpit across both monitors to give me a panoramic view of where I'm going. I foolishly believed that I could just plug it in and go. However it would appear, after further research, that I'm going to require something like Nvidia Surround. So far I am confused and would like some clarification. Will Nvidia Surround work with just two monitors? I only seem able to find info about 3 monitors. Do both monitors need to be identical ? Both my monitors are LG 23". One is an IPS 234v and the other is a 23EA63 Do the connectors need to be the same? Can I have a DVI and a HDMI? Before spending money on a new graphics card and there any other thing that I should be checking or looking out for ?
  2. I'm on decent. Flaps 5, Flaps 10.... N1 about 50%...gear up. Speed decreases......Flaps 15. So far so good. I capture the glideslope and reduce N1 to below 45% - a horn sounds. The only way to stop it is to lower the gear or increase N1 to more than 46%. Is there a way to cancel the horn ? I've tried the small black button on the overhead panel "Alt Horn Cutout" and the black button on the Throttle Quadrant "Horn Cutout" without success. Is there a way to stop this horn ?
  3. I'm on approach. Gear Up. Flaps 5, Flaps 10. So far so good. Throttle is minimal. I extend flaps to 15 and hear a horn. I've tried a black button on the overhead panel (lower right) and also the right hand side of the throttle quadrant without any luck. When I extend the gear or increase N1 to over 45% the horn stops. Is there a way to silence the horn ?

  5. This I had thought of but I have no idea how to recreate all of the failures !
  6. I'm currently flying around the world in my PMDG 737 NGX. So far I have had to make three "belly" landings due to flying in a "war zone" with FS Passengers. On the most recent landing I was arriving in Columbo - Sri Lanka. As I decended I started to be shot at. My Hydraulics went along with my right engine and I had a ruptured fuel tank. Bad - Yes, but no sweat. I couldn't get the landing gear to deploy so I prepared for a belly landing. However, it seemed that I couldn't reduce speed. You would have thought that with only one engine the speed would fall away dramitically with the remaining engine on idle - but no. It appeared that the lower I got the faster I went - and not a steep dive - only about 100-200 fpm. At just 200 AGL I was actually in level flight and accellerating.... This has happened during all three instances when I have been "Shot down". Is this a bug in the 737NGX or something obvious that I am doing wrong ?
  7. Thanks for the replies. I've always found the level of detail in the Virtual cockpit to be poor. For example, instrumentation is hard to read as it is too small. I have a 19" monitor. Does the PMDG 737NGX have a Virtual cockpit that is "readable". In other words can I look out of the cockpit window and clearly see the instrumentation ?
  8. I have been using PMDG 737 NG with FS2004 and absolutely love it. Now I would like to upgrade to PMDG 737NGX with Windows 7 and FS X. I'm not a lover of 3D cockpits and like to fly 2D. From what I've seen of FSX, most 2D cockpit views have the view out front partly obscured and I get the feeling that I want to raise my seat a notch or two. Before I invest $1500 in a new PC and 737NGX I would like to know if the 2D panel in 737NGX has this problem? Is it possible to do approaches in 2D with unobscured views for VFR landing ? Thanks in advance for your replies.
