I've just purchased and downloaded a Wilco Citation x for FS2004 and after much trial and error have succeeded in configuring it for an alarm free flight. Considering its ultra high performance, it's a very pleasant aircraft to fly.
However no matter how I load a flight plan or set any of the three positions before or after alignment, I cannot set an initial heading. The heading set knob on the pedestal remains stubbornly inoperative and the HSI on PFD displays a big red X and a heading failure indication. I'm told that if you load the Citation onto FS2004 with the engines already running this problem does not occur, but part of the attraction of the Wilco aircraft is sequencing cold and dark starts and using the FMC. I suspect that the problem possibly lies in loading the initial position, but can anybody provide a definitive fix?
