  2. WOW Pete I cant thank you enough. I have SSD's that i run my programs off. My processor is a Sandy Bridge 2500k overclocked to 4.3 Ghz and i have a 560ti I have my Simobjects and Africa scenery files in the ramdisk at the moment so will play around with it. Thanks for your help
  3. Pete thanks so much for the reply. OK so let me see if i have this correct. I made a file called "scenery" in the R drive and copied the "AFRICA" file in to that so my path should be " Local=R:\scenery\AFRICA" ? And a second question. I mainly fly in Africa. Is it only necessary for me to copy the AFRICA folder over to my ram drive or is there in other file in the Scenery file that i need to copy? Thanks again for the help gentlemen
  4. Hello every one. I just got 16 gigs of ram in my sandy bridge PC with another 16 gisgs planned for the end of the month. I want to start experementing with ram disks as I am getting 8000mb/s read and 9000mb/s write using Crystal disk mark on the ramdisk i set up yesterday. I saw on another forum how to change the FSX.CFG file and how to copy the simobjects folder to the ramdisk so im comfortable with that. I want to add the scenery file to the ramdisk as well but i do not see any command line in the CFG file that points to the location of the scenery file as it does with the simobjects file. So the question is this. is it possible I copy the scenery folder to the ramdisk and then add a command line to the CFG file to point to the location of the scenery file in the ramdisk as one would with the simobjects file. Hope this makes sense. Kind regards. Barry
