  2. Hi folks.  I'm running 2.50 release version and I have built an extension for my Bravo TQ. It has 3  two way switches, and a momentary push button wired up to a Nano arduino board, This is connected to the PC by USB.

I've opened up ports in the firewall as suggested in the documentation. I fire up MSFS, select my aircraft, AAO connects then I run the bridge program, but it only stays on screen for about 5 seconds then disappears. I can't seem to find out why, but I assume Win 10 is removing it despite my best efforts. With the simulator not running it will stay on screen, but the green light on the bridge program never lights up or connects. How can I test whether the board is detected by AAO. It runs on COM 3 when the board is plugged in to the PC.

    Any help much appreciated. Thanks

  3. First of all, let me thank you for a wonderful app that has been a game changer for me, I have both the remote CDU and Overhead Panel for the PMDG 737 NG. 700 and 600. This is not intended as a criticism but only an observation as a user. I was testing both the CDU and Overhead panel with the 600 aircraft.

Going through my preparations I came to the lights test on the Main Panel and noted that when I switched the Test Switch to BRT position the remote CDU screen went black, ( CDU in cockpit remained on with EXEC light illuminated, as it is supposed to do ) Remote CDU had no EXEC light illuminated. Releasing the switch everything returns to normal. So not a big deal , but inaccurate behaviour.

The other thing I noted was it was impossible to move the Circuit Breakers and Panel Light knobs on the Overhead panel. You could move them either way but they would jump back to the centre position and didn't affect the switches on the Overhead panel. Moving the switches on the Overhead itself wouldn't affect the switches on the Remote Overhead. They don't talk to one another. Everything else works both ways. So my question is , is this a bug or a limitation in the programming ?

  4. OK thanks for the encouragement, Bryan. I think I will try it as my flights seem very quiet apart from the LVL D FO during TO and Landing. Having a more active FO seems like a great idea with voice control. It is an old product, admittedly, but it still seems to satisfy my illusion of being there. I keep coming back to it, after all the eye candy of the more up to date aircraft have worn off.

I'll report back with my experiences in case other users have the same question.

  5. Thanks guys for the link to the software, I now realise that these units are not exactly new, but are only recently being stocked by a Pilot outlet I use that have described them as "New". New to them, perhaps, but I admit having never seen them advertised before.

The GF website publishes a pdf compatibility chart for these two modules, that simply says PMDG software required, for the NGX. The implication being that you had to purchase it from PMDG themselves.

I just didn't realise that it was free from GoFlight themselves. Well done to Steve, a great big thank you from me. I will be buying these straight away now.

    Thanks for your help guys.

    Eddie.

  6. Hi there,

I have noticed that GoFlight have released 2 new items of hardware that NGX jockeys might be very interested in. I , certainly am interested because they look like being very useful.

    1. GF-EFIS

    2.GF-MCP-PRO

They look highly realistic and are good value too.

For users like myself who intend to build a full size home cockpit this looks to be a very good alternative to the hugely expensive alternatives out there.

On the GoFlight website compatibility charts for these two products it seems we need to purchase an interface software specifically designed for these items, with the NGX, from PMDG.

My question being, is this a WIP, and will there eventually be something we can buy to use these with our favourite 737 ? It is without doubt the finest rendition of the 737 that never actually rolled out of the Boeing factory.

Best Regards to all at PMDG

    Eddie Zetlein.
