HA! The moment I post it, VICTORY! For all those who want to fix there issue, here it is.
First uninstall anything you have. Go to control panel/programs then find SST or matcatz, or anything you installed, including something called saitek.
Also, go to start, then devices and printers. With the joystick plugged in, right click. Find properties. Now click the hardware tab. You will find 2 things there. HID and USB. Click one at a time and then click properties. Then the drivers tab, then bottom is UNINSTALL. Do this for both. It will ask to restart on the first one. Say no and wait for the second. After the second, UNPLUG THE CONTROL!! Then restart. LEAVE IT UNPLUGGED!
Second, Go to my computer/C drive/Windows/Temp. Look for anything such as madcatz, saitek. Delete the folder.
Third, click start, then at the bottom where you search for programs, type regedit. Click enter. Go to HKEY_Current_user\system\currentcontrolset\control\mediaproperties\privateproperties\directinput. Find any file that says saitek, which should be 3. Then any file that starts with VID delete. Easy way for me is to click the VID on the top, the first VID file, then click my delete key under home. Then I can click enter when it askes are you sure.
Forth, get the CORRECT software. Both files are to large to be attached, so I will refer you to this website. ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/xpvista
On the VERY top you see saitek Avaitor/32 and /64. Pick the right one for your system. 64 in most cases. Then, ON THE BOTTOM, the SST 6.0 software at the bottom. Again, 32 or 64Bit versions are availible.(it was incorrect about a month ago, now it is correct)
Double cick the Driver software, which saves by default as Saitek_Aviator_Joystick_SD6_15_XX(64 or 32)Bit_Drivers. When it askes you to plug in the control, do it. Click next. After installing, the thing will ask you to register. There is a checkbox. Either check it or don't. I didn't. ***KEY PART*** Then click next. Clicking cancel will fail the install. Leave it unchecked and click next.
Now your ready for the SST software. Double click, install.
DONE! All the headaches GONE!
