  1. OK. Everyone tells me its so easy to do all this folder, zip, cut, paste, blah, blah, blah. And I'm sure it is easy. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT. I don't . and repeating what I have to do isn't getting the job done. I can read what to do. I can't figure out HOW. Thats been my question all along. How do I 'navigate' to a particular whatever? How do I unzip a file? I know by now I have to do these things, I'm just not hearing how. I fall asleep watching these online tutorials because of poor sound, video or accents which trip me up. And by the way as JJJ asked, the program PMDG 737 NGX was purchased in DVD form, hence making it unnecessary for me to have to do anything except pop in the disk and go. If I had known all this other nonsense was necessary I wouldn't have spent the money. Its also why I stopped my subscription to PC Aviator. There's way too much emphasis on learning the vagaries of computers and computing instead of flying. I know I'm not the only 'old fart former pilot' who is in this category. Sorry for the rant, just frustrated. All I want to do is fly.
  2. I've been doing MS flight simulator for a number of years and it seems, no it is becoming more and more an excercise in comprehending the ins and outs of the myriad OS that seem to hit the market every year. I would that these add on simulation programs spend more time getting this various procedures ironed out prior to launching something on the buying public which is by nature incomplete and forcing the consumer to learn to do things of a computer nature rather than a flying nature. I flly computers only because I was priced out of flying the real thing years ago, now its happening on a different plane but happening just the same. When I placed the PMDG program on my computer all the necessary files, folders, etc. went to where they had to go directly from the DVD. But now I find I need downloads to be placed all over the place and I'm spending what little spare time I had for sim flying on trying to get the necessary whatevers where they need to go. I'm saying if the developer could do that on their DVD, why not for liveries and updates? Why the complications?
  3. I know you are trying to help and I appreciate it but this stuff is just beyond me. Thanks
  4. I'm ready for the second tutorial and I see I need to download and install, unzip, etc. SP1c. I'd also like to install some liveries. I've printed PMDGs "How to install liveries" page but I don't know have a clue how to make, folders, sub-folders, putting downloaded items into folders, unzipping.....in other words, I can understand the aircraft procedures,(I'm a licensed pilot) but doing all these computer gyrations in order to make the program work (not the airplane) is above my pay grade. Any help?
