  1. Okay changed the motherboard. I think this one is better (what's firewire? is that the 8111e?) 0.o And I got the i5 3670K quad core. You can see the mobo in the new list. I just updated it. (guess I didn't have to relink it.. list updates by itself heh). I also amped the RAM back up to 32GB (4x8GB) just because *shrugs*. It can support it, so I want it >D lol speaking of which saw an intel mobo that can support 96GB... I was like ... wow.................*extra long "..." pause* yeah. Anyways. Hope this new list is good? I think this mobo will support more than that other one and will be of big help. Also wasn't sure if I should get rid of the fan&heatsink I put up there the coolmasters one, so kept it in list. Also my friend mentioned copper tubing for cooling. Still don't know if good or just hype?
  2. Aaaand here's the updated list: > http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=26633427
  3. Okay looking up the X850 and nVidia cards now. 6 cores overkill?! Naaaaahhhh >D But okay I'll look into the 2500 and 3570, as well as dumbing down the ram to 16gb. Will post link of new list here in a few. (appreciate the help so far though guys ^_^ ) ADDED: Um. how important is IEEE 1394? I found a cool mobo (at least I think its cool) for just $90 but doesn't have IEEE. Has some other kind of connection (Realtek 8111E?) > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130674
  4. Okay now I'm confused.... as per the guide "So - purchase the fastest ‘unlocked-clock’ processor you can afford" But isn't the AMD 4.0(4.2turbo) with 8 cores better than the i7 extreme with 3.8ghz(4.0turbo) and six cores? 0.o or am I missing something? (which I probably am).. EDIT:Disregard... I looked up several pages and all benchmarking for gaming.. i7 3970 (or in those cases 3770) seem to be the winner....... wow. Didn't think they'd be. Okay so its decided I'll get an intel (would the i7 extreme below be recommended, or go with lower?) the guide said the i7 was good for higher end (4-5gh) so that's the range I wanted to go with. @Dazz No its not going to be just FSX> I intend to run BF3 and GTA4 (and GTA5 when it comes out). At the very least. I want to maximize performance as much as possible so I don't have to worry about upgrading for awhile. (not talking NASA computer here lol, but something epically awesome). So if the intel route, would this be good? > http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116877 And you said something with the sandy bridge versions overheat fast? Is there a good way to have it super cool without getting any water cooling sources? I don't want to risk leakage.
  5. Okay so I need help with the cooling system of a computer I'm ordering/building. I'll post both the link and an image (just in case if the link isn't allowed and is deleted). >Link is to my NewEgg wishlist (you should be able to see it: http://secure.newegg...Number=26633427 >Picture (imageshack): http://imageshack.us.../gamingrig.png/ Okay... my friend tells me I need a lot of cooling (and I.... THINK he was joking when he told me I should forget the case and have everything cooled next to or insize a freezer) lmao. I told him "Don't joke with me on that, I'll set it up in an icebox if I really have to" >D But that might do more harm than good. Copper tubing good to help cooling? >True or False Liquid Cooling? >True or False More fans than what's on that list? >True or False And any other feedback/suggestions you can give me would be appreciated. EDIT: Also question/concern about the graphics card and motherboard.... the graphics card says something about it being PCI Express 3.0? But the mobo only lists a PCI Express 2.0 and 1 .... for all you computer gurus, out there, by looking at the specs in Details tab, can you tell me, if that mobo can still use that graphics card or if I have to either (get a lower graphics card) or find a diff CPU/mobo? Would really appreciate it thanks.
