  1. Hi, In FSX and C172, I have installed GNS530 as Nav 1 and GNS 430 as Nav 2. I have dual KI209s. They work great, but both are being powered by the 530. Any way to get the second KI209 to work off of Nav2? Thanks.
  2. WOW! SUCCESS! You had mentioned previously a minimum 17 Volts and it dawned on me this is a 14V airplane! I went to the Seneca aircraft.cfg and upped the voltage to 28V and viola! HSI has power! I don't think it mentions anywhere in the documents about it being a 24 v HSI?? (resetting the default Friday harbor did nothing. I even deleted my fsx.cfg and generated a new one. Still nothing till I upped the voltage.) Thanks for the help Ed. I can finally fly my Seneca with a GNS430 after 3 days of hair pulling. I guess it was worth it just to have an answer. Thanks again. mark
  3. Default flight is Seneca airborne over PHX. By the way, I just installed mindstar 430 & HSI into the fsx c208 and everything works fine. Even get a VNAV for an LPV approach! Must be something to do with carenado, and how things are setup. There is no clearly defined Nav1 Nav2 in the panel.cfg.
  4. Affirmative on avionics master switch. It is on. I just tried the Mindstar 430 with the default Seneca HSI. It works fine in VLOC mode, no flags, then when I switch to GPS, the HSI continues to operate in VOR mode. No flags. Does not seem to be connected to the 430.
  5. Unfortunately, that's what I have been doing. Airborne with a local VOR tuned. I can receive the VOR on Nav 2, works fine. I can hear the ID on Nav 1, but the HSI does not respond in VLOC mode. I can turn on the autopilot and it will turn towards the VOR. In GPS mode I select Direct to a waypoint. The autopilot will turn to the waypoint, but the HSI is still dead. Nav flag at all times, in VLOC and GPS mode using the Mindstar HSI. If I use the original Seneca HSI, the VOR will work ok and nav flag goes out, but nothing in GPS mode. I don't recall if I had a Nav flag with the original HSI and Mindstar GPS in GPS mode. Either way the needle does not respond in gps mode.
  6. No change, sorry. Nav flag and no movement. Is it because simconnect=none? On the original Seneca the HSI would show deflection for the VLOC but not for the GPS with GNS 500. With mindstar there is no deflection for VLOC or GPS. I tried turning off radios in the aircraft.cfg but that didn't help. Mark

  8. Hi, I'm trying to install the Mindstar GNS430 and HSI into Carenado PA34 Seneca II. Everything works fine, except the HSI has a NAV flag and CDI is not getting a signal in either VLOC or GPS mode. Autopilot steers ok in both modes. No signal from 430 to the HSI. The C172 panel works fine in all modes. Heading Card rotates, OBS rotates, Heading Bug Rotates, but needle is always centered with a NAV flag. (FSX Steam, Windows 10.) Any ideas? Thanks.
  9. That did fix it. FSUIPC working fine with G1000 now. Thanks for the help! mark
  10. Success! Disabling FSUIPC resolved the problem. Anyway to make them work together? Is it because the simconnect isn't connecting? Anyway, it works for now.
  11. Ok, so here is my progress. 1. I reloaded all 11GB of default scenery: Same problem, crash after activating direct to airport. 2. I uninstalled/reinstalled Mindstar g1000 : Same problem 3. Updated FSUIPC to latest version: Same problem 4. Started logging events. Last event before crash references ".PLN " Something to do with flight plan formats?
  12. Hi, Yes, I do update the FSX waypoint/naviad database every several months. Also lots of megascenery. I do have the latest mindstar as of a couple days ago. Thanks. mark
  13. I just installed the G1000 into the stock aircraft, and it works fine until I type in a direct to waypoint or create a flight plan. FSX Steam stops working and crashes to desktop. Does this for any aircraft with Mindstar G1000. I sunk another $40 into a RealNavData update with the same results. FSX Steam, Windows 10/64 bit, AMD processor.
