  1. I do, at altitude. I will do as you suggest and hopefully I see positive results. Thank you for responding to my thread.
  2. Thank you sir. I realized too late that there are a number of helpful links at the top of the forum. After playing around with some settings late in the evening, it appears as though the shader fix works, however the flashing runways are still there...not a huge deal, but the water effects are working as described. I will look at the threads you mentioned above and hopefully that will increase my performance.
  3. Hello everyone, To start, I am a total noob when it comes to proper set-up and performance in FSX. I want to use DX10 primarily because I see large benefits in FPS. I still feel like my performance is nowhere near the level I should be with my new computer. I know it is asking a lot, and I apologize if I am breaking any protocols, but could someone look at my config, and my system specs on my profile and offer a tweak? I am able to get UTX, GEX, and REX to run without issue, I see those take effect in game. I have tried to do the shader 3.0 fix, the flashing runway fix, and some other minor tweaking found via the tools online, but I never see any results changes when I go back into FSX so I must be doing something wrong. I do run everything on my system as administrator to avoid conflicts, and my FSX is not installed in the default location…I heard that might cause issues so I avoided that up front.
