  2. After a KSTS KVNY leg at FL410 and .81 I have noted a few minor issues. I have to begin with how well this model simulates a RW 20 series LearJet. Where is the 25D? Here are my notes: There is no MMo needle on the ASI. There is no way to turn on the tip tank lights(Recognition Lights). The nav lights show easily through the tip tanks from the cabin The Pressurization system is inop. There are no rivets on the engine cowlings. Hydraulic pressure remains after you use the aux pump to pressurize it. Nacelle heat lights come on when you turn on the nacelle heat? Not sure on this one. They switched that along the production line. Spoilers have more deep rumble and slightly vibrate the aircraft Spoilers are about 40% as effective as these modeled. The air ignition should snap crisply when switched on with no engines running and during startup. Where is the flight director? When Landing or Taxi lights left on they show through wheel wells. When same lights are off the wing roots are illuminated on top skin. The lights on tip tanks are above and below the tip tanks. On Handling: The airplane is way too stable in roll. It should be very light and not very "locked in" especially when tips full almost wallows at less than 200 KIAS. In pitch it should be a little lighter. Yaw seems a little stiff as well. Well as I said, great job and what a nice experience to reflect on. This truly is a close rendition of a Lear 23. Fuel burn was spot on. I climbed at 250 to 10K and 300 to .78 to FL410. Time to climb seemed a little quick. Maybe 5% less thrust. Fuel flow at Altitude looked really good. A parabolic descent to a near Sea Level field(KVNY) and burned about 1900 lbs for the flight. I didnt get the time but I had about a 10 kt TW component average. It isnt quite as skatey on the ground unless you are in snow and ice so those figures could be tweaked as well. Great Job! Will
  3. I have enough RW Lear experience and I can say that this FSX Lear 24 is really close to how they fly. It's actually a more stable flight model than RW but I don't think the public would tolerate the amount of time that it takes a pilot to be able to handle the Lear. It takes many hours of hand flying to be able to just hold altitude and heading especially in the flight levels. On approach a new LearJet pilot will dutch roll all of the way down final. I am not sure what wing they tried to model here exactly but I feel they did it well enough to be darn close! The systems are really close (Funky like the RW) and keep in mind...the real autopilot didnt work all that well either. It's one of the first corporate jets and you'll be remiss if you don't keep that in mind when comparing it to other, later model jets. I was shocked when I first transitioned to the Gulfstream Line from the Lear 23, 24,25,35,36,55. Learjets really didn't change alot system-wise until the 45 which was built after the 55. I'll spend some more time with it to see if the power comments are valid. I do remember 1000 lbs per side was good gouge for 200, 250, 300. As far as needing a lot of power to taxi, It didnt. But to takeoff, it certainly did with full fuel. You didnt go many places without full fuel! A totally must have if you can run it in your rig. Fun Jet!
