  1. Thanks easypc!! I prbz would over clock if it makes fsx run better On my old pre build rig from pc world ( big mistake for the pice!! ) I was getting 30fps most placed apart from my added on egnt ( with big ac like the 777-300er ) most other aircraft were fine and that was with most sliders set to max but air traffic turned down to nearly zero and road traffic etc to zero Let me know how you get on with your build please and good luck and hope it works amazing
  2. Yes I live in the north East and also work at egnt it's a shame durham lost a lot of contacts over the past few years
  3. Hi everyone I'm after some advice for a dedicated pc to run fsx, I'll be wanting add ons like uk2000 egnt orbx england also some aircraft like the 777-737 and possibly heathrow and dubai What I have so far is Processor: i7 4790k Motherboard:???? Menory: 8-16gb ddr3 1866 mhz ram??? Graphics card: evga gtx970 1st hard drive: Ssd? 2nd hard drive:???? Power supply:??? Processor cooling:???? Operating system: ????? Any advice is really appreciated as im really no good with PCs, the one thing I may have to do is buy the graphics card separatly as everywhere ive looked don't have the evga gtx graphics card listed and ive heard that's the best from the 970 series with cooling etc
  4. The PC came with windows 8 installed so Would mean buying win 7 I know you can run with compatibility for windows 7 etc I wounder if that changed my settings when I tryed that ?
  5. I've attached a image of my specs I have fsx with sp1 removed sp2 I also have a scenery add on for North England and Rex essential plus overdrive installed, I was getting a steady 32fps until a couple of days ago now there up and down all over the place not steady at all until your in the air, I also have uk2000 egnt ( newcastle international ) and all Of a sudden the lines along the side of the runway are there until about 8m down the runway then they vanish and flash same as the centre lines. I also have it crash quite often and look at the events file and it says about the automatic dll or something, I've also seen a thing only you can put your details into and it will create the best settings for your fsx or something but as I'm not very clever with computers I don't know how many cores etc I have and that so if anyone could help with this to save me Re installing that would be grate. Or do you think I should do a fresh install and start all over if so should I install fsx where it recommends or somewhere else what is best for the game as at the moment I Think it's installed in c file x86 widows 8 thanks In advance
  6. ill see if i can get one, what kind of ssd would you recommend?
  7. bought a pc for £1000 and a 23inch moniter but its wide screen looked small in the shop, anyways its i7 3770, turbo to 3.9ghz 16 gb ram over kill i know but came with the pc and a gtx 2gb 640. so it doesnt have a ssd, if i got one do i need to put my os onto the ssd and the same for fsx? il be installing northern england scenery, few aircraft and rex nothing else really thanks
  8. im not going to over clock it my self as im not good with computers, so if i was to change the fsx cfg it would help with fps ? im just after something that will run fsx good at low level as my brothers computer jumps when coming into land and his has a very good spec, i7 3770 gtx 680 dont know what others but its a hp pc that cost 1200, i know you could get better for that money aswell
  9. well tbh my budget is 1400 mayb a little more, i want the best i can get from fsx, ive been useing my brothers pc but it just isng up to it, gets low fps when on the ground when in the air can be 150+ so i want a pc that will run 30+ on the ground it seems to be a good rid but would i need liquid coolent or would a fan cooling system be good enough? and i think id prefer the i7 as theres good reviews on them
  10. yeah it will be overclocked when bought as i dont have a clue, i just need pointed in the right direction, as ill be adding some add on aircraft and scenry
  11. my budget will be around £1300-1400, i know the i7 is one of the best to use, so im going to get the i7, but do i get a overclocked one ( up to 4.80ghz) does overclocking cause problems? it will come already clocked from the place im going to get it from OC Intel® Core™ i7-3820 3.60GHz OC @ max. 4.4GHz N/A 10MB L3 4 8 LGA2011 OC Intel® Core™ i7-3930K 3.20GHz OC @ max. 4.6GHz N/A 12MB L3 6 12 LGA2011 OC Intel® Core™ i7-3960X 3.50GHz OC @ max. 4.8GHz do i go with the i7 3960x or one of the lower ones? graphics card, gtx 680 should be more then enough as the 690 is mega ££££ but do i go 2gb or 4gb? motherboard? unkown 1st hard drive/memory?? should this be a ssd? if so what kind of gb and what make etc of harddrive 2nd harddrive where im going to install fsx to 2terra i think ill prob go for, so what make etc ram? kingston hyperx genisis quad ddr3 1600mhz or beast quad -ddr3 2400mhz i know 8gb ram would be enough, but would going higher have negative effects or anything? id rather have more then enough so its not useing it to the max if you get me. is it worth getting a SSD CACHE DRIVE? 20gb what about a processor cooler? also help with cooling do i need water cooled or would fan cooled be more then enough??? if so what ones and do you think i need a sound card or would the standard sound card be ok?? thanks in advance for any help, cant wait to be playing fsx with good fps at lower levels already orderd add ons tonight, thanks
