So what's the point of a forum if I can't express an opinion? And who's whining anyway?

I use X-Plane also. I primarily fly the Aerosoft a320-a321 and it's not available in X-Plane. Look, I'm a big fan pf P3D and I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I won't hold back my opinion because some people may get annoyed. At the end of the day it is what it is...

I don't think I can make it much clearer.

OK. So because I have an opinion on recent developments for the platform I actually prefer, I should move on? Think I'll stick around a bit but thanks for the option.

I'm sorry but I don't understand your comment. For $200 I would accept a completely revamped SIM running at 64bit, utilizing modern GPU's as much as possible.

I absolutely have seen the improvements, but I don't think they justify bumping the platform up to a 3.0 release and charging individual users $200 for it. I also realize that P3D isn't a "game", but comparing it to modern games that take advantage of the amazing hardware we as users have access to these days is night and day. Any new game development takes years to complete. Some companies spending millions of dollars to make these games see the light of day and the most you'll pay is $60 tops. Lockheed Martin could have done better with this release. At the very least it should have been a 2.6 iteration. This "update" should have been free, that's my opinion.

People have a right to their opinions. The flight sim community spends hundreds if not thousands of dollars on add-ons and software to make their experience a little better. At $200 a pop, features like the one's that were just announced are unacceptable (in my personal opinion). Like many here have said, this is a money grab, nothing more, nothing less. Also, comparing customers to mosquitoes is unfair. It's comments like these that leave a bad taste in people's mouths when they hear the word AVSIM.

    Personally it's underwhelming.
  9. Hi Rob Thanks for the information. Just to clarify, my comment wasn't to critique or badmouth anyone, I just wanted to pass along information that may help resolve an issue in a later release. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication by LM and look forward to future releases. Being a Network Engineer for 15 years myself, I know how trying and difficult it is to pinpoint and resolve issues. Us IT guys are never appreciated. It's a thankless field.
  10. I'm running a 4790K at 4.6 with a vanilla Titan, 16GB 1600 RAM and Samsung 840 EVO SSD. I have the same issues with blurries and texture load time. If I'm descending from 30K and I change to outside views, my textures are blurry. They eventually come into "focus", but they take a long time to begin looking like real terrain.
