  1. I think Carenado did not update their SVS user guide as they refer to C172 G1000 which was the first aircraft they put SVS and that was an option that you could install by using SVS.exe program. In other aircraft it is no longer needed as SVS is installed by separate setup program, so forget what is in the user guide which referes to SVS.exe and C172. try running start.bat from gauge/Carenado_WebSimConnect. it should start "Synthetic Vision helper app" on windows tray which is announced by a message. Then start FSX/P3D and select your aircraft. ZS
  2. well I guess they are compatible but as SVS comes with modified panel.cfg probably you would need to edit it for both options.
  3. dont ask me :) but if you do not see the button then you have an old one.
  4. well, that means you have TBM with which is not SVS enabled. Either you re-download the aircraft (2.1 afaik) SYN VIS button (after choosing PFD button first) shows only for SVS enabled versions (released somewhere in November)
  5. so, after running start.bat when the message started on windows tray you shall start P3D and SVS shall be working. Do you see TER ERR annunciation on PFD ? I guess you should not run any exe but only start.bat and then FSX/P3D.
  6. try running start.bat from gauge/Carenado_WebSimConnect it should start "Synthetic Vision helper app" on windows tray.
  7. happy B day man ;) I wish I got Oculus for my birthday. Will show that post to my wife for inspiration ...
  8. the other location of DLL.XML is the following: %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 (orV4) forget any .bak or DLL_* files. They are backups created by installers. sometimes, if you have CTD issue, start FSX with some stock aircraft, then when scenario is loaded, select the aircraft that is causing issue.
  9. I guess you mean DLL.xml ? Type %APPDATA% in windows file explorer "path" box and it will redirect you to the windows roaming folder. Then if it is FSX, go to Microsoft/FSX or when P3D, go to folder Lockheed Martin/Prepar V4 (or V3)
  10. most likely here... C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-RTM
  11. 14001 is Windows error code for side-by-side DLLs. simconnect is one of them. In documentation it says in requirements: SimConnect.dll RTM version (10.0.60905.0) installed* The installer is located here for P3D v3: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\redist\Interface\FSX-RTM\retail\lib The installer is located here for P3D v4: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface\FSX-RTM\retail\lib hope it helps.
