  1. Thanks guys. I have reinstalled and everything looks OK now. However, this has happened to me twice. If it happens again, I may have to take Alvega's advice and explore the option about controller conflict.
  2. shamrockflyer, I tried not starting FSR, no joy, then I change the file name, no joy, and lastly I uninstalled the entire program, and still I get the dropping cockpit. Perhaps I should reinstall MSFS and just not install FSRealist; what do you think?
  3. shamrockflyer, is it just a matter of not starting FSRealistic before a flight or is there an uninstall procedure you would recommend?
  4. shamrockflyer, as a matter of fact, I do have FSRealistic installed and I love it.
  5. I am not using FSUIPC or any other addon that can interface with MSFS. I reinstalled MSFS and it did the same thing. A day later, it started working perfectly. Now today it is back to its old tricks--view of the rudder peddles instead of cockpit view out of the windshield.
  6. pete_auau, one other thing. Does setting the Joystick and throttle have anything to do with views? And, Neither my up arrow or down arrow even work in game; however, in the Control Options, they do light when pressed. Also, when I hit F or Ctrl/ Space the cockpit comes into view, but when I release those keys, my view goes back down to a view of the rudders.
  7. Hi pete_auau. I am not using the XBox controller. Or, do I use the same procedures for desktop? I have a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.
  8. With every plane I fly, after loading up I get to the "Ready to Fly" screen (so far so good), but when I click Ready to fly, my cockpit view go's down, down, down almost to the floor of each aircraft. I have tried everything I can remember to get the cockpit view back up to the normal view (aircraft windshield). What am I doing wrong?
  9. I tried my first night flight from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. However, I landed without a hitch, but taxiway lighting was none at all. I had to turn on "Taxi Ribbon to see my way to parking. Is there a way to get the taxiway to light up at night?
  10. Denny, I have done the same thing, called the guru who taken over my computer. Problem still not solved; I have to call back. However, I found something interesting. When you are on the Microsoft Store, rather than clicking on Microsoft Flight Sim (for me, Premium Deluxe Edition) and the version you have, try scrolling down a bit and click on Digital Ownership. That will allow you to, hopefully, download. The reason I could not do it is because I removed my computer from the list of eligible computer for downloading. I had plan on putting it back in but I couldn't find out how to put it back in. Thanks to everyone for their help. I am downloading a fix and have to call tech support back.
  11. I just reinstalled Windows 10 (because of an unrelated MSFS problem). Now I can't install MSFS 2020. This is the message I get when I try to install from the Microsoft Store: "It looks like you don’t have any applicable device(s) linked to your Microsoft account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account." Why does it not recognize my desktop even after I am signed into MS.
  12. Is it possible to save a first VR setting and then try a different setting while not losing your 1st setting? I found that there are many different settings for VR msfs2020; and I want to try most of them and choose the one that is best for my hardware setting (Zen 2 AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT-MB, RTX 3080, 32 gb of ram)

  14. This morning I started up MSFS; I got as far as the update page from the Microsoft Store. After 5 tries, I still was unable to update because the screen froze up. Each time I tried to update the screen froze up. Is there another way to update MSFS?
  15. Thanks guys for you suggestions. I decided to purchase a 1T hard drive I designated as D: drive; I installed it and I am now downloading MSFS 2020 once again. I will have to figure out, later, how to delete all remanences of MSFS on drive C: sd_flyer when/if you find out how you purged the MSFS files, please get back to me. Guys, believe it or not, I have been downloading since 04/27/2021 off and on. How large is the word not allowed sim?
  16. sd flyer, are you serious--I would be more than happy to write a letter. Bert and Bob when ever I click on the three dots at the top right, I get "install on my device."
  17. Bert, that sounds interesting. Could you point to a site that gives me step by step instructions on how to use my Microsoft Store Library to see inside my file system. By the way, I have, in the past, found both my exe file and my community folder, now both are gone. As to your second post, In Settings, the only flight sim file I have is Microsoft Soft Flight SimConnect Client v 10.0.61259. Thanks for your help.
  18. First, let me tell you what happen. After the last up date, I lost my flight sim exe icon; both the one on the desktop and the one from the start menu. Secondly, I had a community folder copied to my desktop; it suddenly disappeared. Because I have no Microsoft Flight Simulator exe, I can neither repair or delete and yet my hard drive size remain the same--files must still be on the system. My question is, is there a utility that remove all files related to MSFS 2020. I was about to reinstall, then I realized, space is a premium. I need to rid my computer of all files related to MSFS 2020. By the way, MSFS 2020 has the worse customer service I have ever encountered; for the price we paid for the Premium Deluxe version, we should be better appreciated with a human customer service. I have restarted X-Plane and I really like it. Note: I have been trying to get in touch with MSFS and Asobo for the last two weeks, to no avail. I thought I could get someone to take over my system and help find the culprit. Any suggestions?
  19. Paul_Yorks, I have an Nvidia RTX 3080 and there is no USB port. I think I will try the "type c" PCIE card; I ordered it today and it will be here Thursday.
  20. Slashed2, I am using the Reverb G2, I copied suggested settings from a youtuber, connected to home internet, I did lower my vr settings to medium because I have an RX 3080 video card. The freeze does not last too long with lower settings. However, when I start from the runway, I have no problems. Thanks slashed2.
  21. I tried flying the Cessna 172; got it started up and ready to go (simply beautiful). I get a freeze, then it starts up again, then another freeze. After rebooting, I get the same thing, but this last time the freeze stays frozen. What the hell is happening. I updated all relevant drivers including the Nvidia 3080 graphics card driver.
  22. This evening, after installing the update this morning, I started a flight in the a32nx. When turning on the batteries and the external power, I noticed there were no lights on any panel screens, not even after turning up the brighten knobs. I did this procedure 3 or 4 times, getting the same results. Is there a startup step I am missing with this latest update? Those panels always lit up after the batteries were turned on; I would then brighten them up with a knob adjustment.
  23. Hi everyone; I was finally able to afford and purchase my G2 headset. I got DCS to work fine. My problem, now, is MSFS. Here is my procedure: I turn on the computer with the G2 USB plugged in (I bought a Rosewill PCI, USB type C Express Card--which doesn't work; I can not find the right driver so I use the upfront USB with the Reverb provided type C adaptor). When loaded, I start MSFS and subsequently start a flight with airport location and Gate. I then go to the VR menu and click VR. First, this beautiful picture of the cockpit comes on with a popup that says hit space bar to center (something like that). Strangely, I can never get that pop up to go away or center the cockpit--which is already centered. Secondly, the screen freezes, come back on and freezes again, endlessly. While the screen is frozen, the HMD is in black out. Lastly, the sound cuts on and off (I am not using the attached headphones--could never get them to work--I use earbuds. I have no idea of what to do, and I am hoping that the problems lies within my graphic settings. Please help and thanks in advance--I want to fly so badly. Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12 core processor, AMD X570 UD motherboard, 32 GB of ram, GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, and Windows 10.
  24. Thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one thinking about this. Please inform me if a solution comes up.
  25. Hello brothers and sisters; I have a question about Vatsim's ATC in VR. I just ordered the HP Reverb G2. Moreover, I am trying to learn Vatsim ATC procedures and verbiage. My question: when ATC gives instructions, I normally right them down and repeat back. However, with the G2 on my face, I can not see the paper or my writing for reading back. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need to write down ATC instruction to repeat back, but if I can not see anything other than the G2 view, how am I to record and read back?
