Hi BigSky, Thanks for the reply. Yes, FDS have good set of hardware. I believe I can take only those products which directly interface with FSX. Ex : Throttles or Yokes. I am not sure of they can be interfaced with the PMDG systems EX : CDU or Autopilot atleast as of now. Someone may offer it down the line once they write the drivers. I have studied a lot but I do not see a way we can build the FDS type professional level cockpit interfacing with PMDG 777. Hence I thought of posting this Questions to seek ideas, it at all it is possible. Thank you again for the reply.

Hi Folks, Kindly request you to share your ideas on how to build a basic home cockpit given there are no 2D Panels in this product, I have built few Home Cockpit 7 screens on FSX products who offer both Pilot and Co-Pilot Panels. The Front panel (Merge of Pilot and Co-pilot) is projected in Front with 2 external views, 1 Overhead and Center panel it comes With Yoke, Rudder, Throttle, MCP and FMS hardware it came up as a pretty good home cockpit facility. I use the Touch screen for Overhead panel mounted on a frame and it functions just great. In the same setup, I can use with one side panel only the PMDG 747 and 737 and they also give great experience. For 777, I use Desktop Yoke, Rudder Pedals and Throttle Hardware which directly interface with FSX. I project the FSX/PMDG 777 Virtual cockpit on a 32 Inch Samsung LED TV and with Track IR it gives a great experience. With the above, please advise (if at all possible) a way to use 777 in same way. Ex :Any means by which we can project the overhead panel on a touch screen mounted above to get a same effect while having the front view. Is there any FMS and MCP Hardware which we can interface this ?? to mention a few. Please provide some ideas how the experience of PMDG 777 can be enhanced. Thanking you Best Rgds Cheeleair

Hi, Parked at PHX on summer with OAT of ~55 Deg C on ground. Confirmed on EICAS. I have not connected Air and Just did the APU shutdown. So absolutely no APU Bleed and no External Air connected. Engines shut down. L all doors Opened. I thought the cabin temp would increase rapidly. But took about 10-15 minutes for the temp to raise from 24 Deg to 28-29 Deg C as I see in Air Page. Kindly suggest if I am missing something. Best Rgds Cheeleair

Hello, I am interested to know about the thought process/decision how the base package models are decided? Is it based on popularity of the real model or Technical aspects to model or something else ? I believe the success of the real world models have an influence on models the simmers want to fly. For Ex : Many may prefer flying say 737 -800/-700 over the -900/-600 models of B737 just because they are hugely popular over the latter models. But PMDG modeled -800/900 into one and -600/700 in another as extension. This made the -700 if someone wanted to be a very costly product and end up owning -600/900 which one many not be specifically interested in. If we go by the Legacy of 747, -400 was released and later -8 and LCF models which sinks up with the real world numbers. With B777, going by numbers B777-200ER is the most popular of the -200 Series with about 422 in number. So I had predicted this as the Base model and -200. The "A Type" (88 Built ) and LR (~56 Built) probably would have been made available as Extension Type. But PMDG chose to have the LR as base package over the other popular series. Many would probably want -300ER model to be flown over the -300 Series again only because of ER's popularity in real world. Kindly share what goes-in while deciding the Base package types (Of course, only if it can be shared. I understand and respect if PMDG wants to keep it confidential). Best Rgds Cheeleair.
