  1. Thanks for the post Ryan. I have decided to purchase this aircraft as my first addon for X-Plane 11 and I am excited to fly it tonight.
  2. Thanks for your suggestions. The only thing I need to do is adjust the sensitivity of the controls as I find it way too sensitive compared to what I'm used to on FSX.
  3. Thank you very much for your advice! Based on the frailty of the rumour on P3D 64 bit, I'm probably going to purchase x-plane this weekend.
  4. Thanks for your advice! Still struggling to make up my mind on where to spend my money.
  5. Should I hold out on purchasing P3D until v4 is released? I ask because I heard that Lockheed Martin doesn't offer an upgrade price to owners of the previous version. I have come back to simming after a long break. Reinstalled the FSX boxed version on my Windows 10 PC and it runs pretty poorly and I'm looking for something new. The X-Plane 11 demo is great and quite an improvement on what I am used to! I have X-Plane 9 with all the scenery DVDs it shipped with.
  6. Thanks, Jim. The problem was definitely caused by the video card driver. Uninstalling and reinstalling it didn't seem to work but going back to an earlier version has it now running perfectly (thanks drnunn and nippa). I appreciate the help!
  7. I recently bought a new PC and installed FSX and Acceleration. It's Win7 64 bit and it is crashing to the desktop (fatal error) as soon as I access the ALT menus. My fatal error crash occurs immediately after clicking to open a menu, not after 15-20 clicks which was reported as being a problem in several other threads. I saw the posts about remove the UIAnimationCore.dll from System 32 and SysWOW64. I removed them and it didn't make a difference so I've put them both back (from back ups I made before I deleted them). AppCrashView generated the following report: This crash occurred as I sat on the runway straight after loading. I pressed ALT and from the drop down menu clicked 'Select Aircraft.' It went to a black screen and crashed to the desktop a few seconds later. It sometimes also happens if I press ESC to exit the flight. It can crash to the desktop when I do that as well. It can also sometimes CTD before it even begins loading. I chose my aircraft, location and click the button in the bottom right to begin loading but it crashes straight away. However, I cannot seem to replicate this error. If it occurs I'll post the log. Other than the issue described above, the simulator seems to run very smoothly. It's frustrating however because I can't use the menus. some of which I used frequently on my old PC (such as save flight). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Hi all, I recently bought a new PC and installed FSX and Acceleration. It's Win7 64 bit and it is crashing to the desktop (fatal error) as soon as I access the Alt menus. My problems seem to match everything described in this thread, except my fatal error crash occurs immediately after opening a menu, not after 15-20 clicks. I saw the posts about remove the UIAnimationCore.dll from System 32 and SysWOW64. I removed them and it didn't make a difference so I've put them both back. I've tried the Vista dll and it didn't fix the crash. I'm not sure if my problem is the same as described by OP but some of the posts in this thread are from knowledgeable people who may have had the same issue as I am. Other than that, the sim seems to run fine except it now also gives a fatal error as soon as I try to start a Quick Flight at the Bowerman Orbx demo airport! Any ideas? Your comments would be greatly appreciated! (<--PC specs in the postbit)
