FSX-SE Diamond DA20-100 Katana engine won't start

Good day, A friend of mine purchased the Diamond DA20-100 Katana on Steam. The fuel gage shows empty, but some sub-menu apparently shows 99% full. The engine won't start. As an experiment, the same person then bought the DA40, and that works normally. They have tried to uninstall/re-install the DA20 but that has not solved the problem. Any ideas? PS - I do not have access to the computer (over 100 miles away) Rgds KW
