  1. I don't believe you can overclock non-k Intel processors? That was the CPU I was considering, as *ideally* I wouldn't have to upgrade motherboard etc?
  2. My current specs: i7-4790 (Locked) @ 3.6 Ghz Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB RAM Gigabyte H97-HD3 Motherboard I was leaning towards upgrading my CPU as wasn't exactly satisfied with my performance, because I think it may be bottle-necking my GPU? Roarke
  3. Hi, I have a bit of money that I am interested in using to upgrade my PC for P3D v3. I have been doing a bit of research, but I wanted to hear some opinions more specifically about P3D. I am wondering should I consider upgrading my current HDD to an SDD hard drive, or should I upgrade my CPU? Which would be more beneficial for my sim? Thanks, Roarke
  4. Hey guys, I think I have found the problem, like I'm 99% sure. I installed P3D onto the family computer to test if it works, and it turns out it does. So I have identified that it is a problem with my computer. Whether it is the graphics card or something I am not sure, so I'm going to take it to my local technician for him to check it out. It has also been happening with my other apps like FSX and a few of my games. So thanks for the help guys, it is really appreciated. I'll post here if the issue is rectified. Cheers Roarke

  6. It seems like I don't even have a dll.xml in that folder?
  7. So I uninstalled and reinstalled following your instructions exactly. This time the scenery.cfg seemed to work, but I still recieved a fatal error. I don't believe it is a problem with my download either as the zip size and checksum are both correct. Here is the error log, if it's any help? Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 3.2.3.16769, time stamp: 0x56df48ce Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000c8 Faulting process id: 0xd90 Faulting application start time: 0x01d1964a6684f525 Faulting application path: C:\Prepar3D v3\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: 41107bd1-023e-11e6-8299-fcaa143d1d9d Btw, thanks for the help guys, it is appreciated. 8. So have reinstalled using your directions, and everything went smoothly. But, when I opened P3D for the first time, it said that there was no valid scenery.cfg file and it aborted. I don't know what is wrong? Roarke
  9. Yes, I am about to uninstall and reinstall following Kabronicus' directions. I uninstalled using the setup.exe and manually deleted: %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files Cheers Roarke
  10. Hey guys, I have already posted in the P3D forum but thought I may also be able to get some help here. I recently purchased, downloaded and installed P3D v3 Academic, without any noticeable errors or issues. I went to run it for the first time, and the splash screen appears for a few minutes. But then it suddenly crashes to desktop and a 'fatal error occurred'. Here is the error log: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 3.2.3.16769, time stamp: 0x56df48ce Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000c8 Faulting process id: 0x398 Faulting application start time: 0x01d195dae55703a9 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: 31a66c04-01cf-11e6-9d5d-fcaa143d1d9d I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, plus upgraded by Graphics driver, which is a GTX 760, but I still get the same error. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Help would be appreciated, regards Roarke
