  1. I'm using active sky evolution and I notice that the clouds keep refreshing. In particular the cirrus clouds. It doesn't really scream realism to me and it's really annoying me!! I've checked my settings and the visibility graduation settings are all fine. Any tips? Thanks.
  2. I was just wondering, what is the recommended speed for a descent from cruise altitude? Say I am flying an airliner at 35,000ft and I am told by ATC to descend, what is the most realistic speed? Currently I set my IAS to 250kts and allow the aircraft to slowly loose speed during the descent. I very rarely fly above 250kts at 10,000ft or below unless I am granted permission. Also, what is the recommended vertical speed? I set mine to -1800. And when below 10,000ft, judging on the distance from the airport I set it to -800. Any tips? Thank you kindly! ^_^

How many FPS do you get in your Fsx?

I'm simply asking what frame rates you guys get. I just think it's a shame that FSX is really juddery compared to FS9. Fsx with the frames and smoothness i get in Fs9 would be a dream come true.
  4. Hello, After allot of research I have discovered that most people seem to play FSX at 30FPS. For a while now I have been chasing 60FPS. As in Fs2004 I get 60FPS on the highest setting, with loads of add-on's and high traffic levels. My system can run FSX perfectly fine on 30FPS but when I'm not in a demanding area of the game I can keep a stable 60FPS. Sadly traffic robs my frame rates. I am just interested in what would you say is the best frame rate to play the game at? I wish FSX would run as perfectly as my FS2004 would but that doesn't appear to be a possibility with any type of hard ware. Thanks for reading.
  5. Hello, I decided to activate DirectX10 as it gives me loads more fps. But for some reason my screen will have an almost rippling effect. Is there any fix for this? I am running Fsx acceleration. I have tried to change my vsync settings using the Nvidia control panel but no matter what setting I choose the problem still remains. Thanks for reading.
  6. Without traffic there is not one single stutter. Everything is responsive and pleasant to watch. If i set my fps to anything but 60 then there will be terrible lag making the simulator unusable. Am i setting my standards too high for Fsx? I am completely happy with how FS9 runs on my system and i never see a single stutter or bit of lag.
  7. Hey there. I have always been a solid fs2004 user but as i have a decent PC i decided to give FSX a try. After tweaking around with the default settings, installing service packs and using an additional booster program. I was able to get FSX running a smooth 60fps in all areas of the game. I installed the project airbus A380 and didn't have any loss of frame rate at all. I was excited to begin installing add-on's to get going on a flight. Sadly, after i installed world of ai my frame rates dropped. I am not used to playing a flight simulator below 60fps and i am disappointed as i have a good spec PC. Is there any fix to this at all? The exact same traffic pack goes ultra smooth on high settings in FS2004 so why it makes such a huge impact on fsx is strange. I dont really want to upgrade my PC if it's not going to make much of a difference. Fsx is an old game and i do not understand why a modern PC is struggling with it. Here are my PC specs. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - Fresh install Nvidia GTX 560ti 1GB Gddr5 ram Intel i7 2600k overclocked to 4.3ghz 16GB Corsair vengeance ram 250GB Corsair SSD 60GB corsaie SSD z68xp-ud3p gigabyte motherboard
