  1. Will try this once I switch over to Windows 7! Windows 8.1 is giving me too many headaches with the yoke disconnects...
  2. Well here's a new one for you guys! I didn't have this problem with the 777LR prior to the SP1/300ER, but now, I am constantly having my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick disconnect on me while on the ground. I am using FSDT's KLAX, Squawkbox, and of course, the PMDG 777 series. The joystick always works at first, but quite often, during my pushback or at some point of my initial cockpit set up, the joystick will disconnect and will refuse to reconnect. I have already tried turning off all the USB power saving options, and the problem persists. Thanks!
  3. I've tried using a zoom level of .60 and .70 and it does make the patterns go away. But consequently, as you stated, it becomes hard for me to effectively monitor the cockpit given that I am running a single monitor set up. I've also noticed that if I use a higher zoom setting and then use the keyboard to further "zoom" out, it makes the patterns go away, but if I go back far enough, the computer registers me as part of the seat and renders my mouse unable to click any buttons. Yes, I found that individually adjusting the brightness makes the patterns worse!
  4. The photos I posted did not fully capture the patterns on the MFDs, but it looks exactly like it! ^ It's not only hurting my eyes, but also the experience... Any help would be appreciated!
  5. Nobody has seen this?

Thank you for the information, BIGSKY. I've been debating if I should purchase ASN, and it's starting to seem like a worthwhile investment.
  7. To start off, this is a problem I've had since the 77LR. Now that I've downloaded SP1 and the 77W, I am seeing the same problem. I am seeing blocky patterns and streaks across my black cockpit displays, dashboards, and wings and it's driving me insane! They are present in both daytime and nighttime, but are exponentially more visible during night flights (the patterns become worse as I turn on dashboard lights). I am starting to think that this is a shading/light setting issue as landing lights on the ground also creates odd colors and textures. Here are a few examples (the patterns inside the cockpit are usually much worse) I am using an Nvidia 770 with 16x CSAA Antialiasing, 16x Anisotropic filtering, and multisampling.

Scandinavian, does the weather radar only work if you have ASN?
  9. Forgot to mention that these "textures" also appear on the wing! I tested out my computer on a plasma TV yesterday and although the textures were less visible, they were still there. I have not seen this kind of texture from the screenshots and videos from other users online. Any suggestions will help!
  10. Bump. Sorry guys, I was out of town until yesterday! Here is a picture of what I am talking about! I also purchased the -300ER and it does the same thing.
  11. Hello forum members! I've been experiencing an odd graphics issue inside my PMDG 777 cockpit lately. The problem is that the lighted portions of the dash has a checkered black and orange-ish pattern on it. And below the glass displays, there are curving stripes across them (the stripes are orange-yellow over the black). These patterns are only presents in the front and middle dashboards and glass displays inside the cockpit. This happens during both day and night, but at night, especially with some of the lights on, the patterns appear in eye-hurting clarity... I am using a GTX770, if that may help solve the problem. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks! P.S. I tried to attach/copy a photo onto this post, but I can't seem to be able to?
  12. Thank you everyone for the comments! Since my plan is to run the i5 + GTX660, what would you say is a good benchmark setting to try FSX on? I understand that I will be tweaking the GPU from the GPU settings itself, but for the main FSX settings (things like level of detail radius, mesh complexity/resolution, texture resolution, etc), are there any good benchmarks to start tweaking from?
  13. Yup, I believe my set up has been finalized! I will give you guys an update on the performance of my FSX setup as soon as I have it running and tuned...Although this will be in 2-3 weeks. Thank you everyone for the help!
  14. To be honest, I usually leave my computer on, and I have a feeling that this will be the case for this computer as well. You're saying boot up time as in from "cold and dark ;)" to the able to load up FSX stage, correct? And as for the SSD, if I end up saving significant money from sales and whatnot (I am purchasing parts over the next 2 weeks, looking for deals), then I will go ahead and invest in a 250GB SSD to use as my Windows+FSX folder.
  15. I was considering using the 125GB SSD + 1TB hard drive set up, but I don't feel safe with using a 125GB SSD for all my FSX files. I If FSX and Windows already uses 60GB of the "usable" 100GB, that only leaves me with 40GB for my PMDG, FSDT airports, REX4, FTX Global, Active Sky Next, and whatever other software I may choose to add later on. And I can't afford to drop another $100 or so for a 250GB SSD. Will running a 1TB 7200 hard drive slow my system down? Another way I can save costs is by switching to an AMD GPU. Does the Intel + Nvidia combination still stand as the best set up? I have been hearing that AMD cards are now performing better than Nvidia nowadays?
