FSX Steam Freezing on Windows 10

Thank you for the time taken to reply, I just deleted again the fsx cfg file and I got 2 hrs out of it, perhaps more but my flight was only that long ... feels amazing to actually be able to use it now and not crash at the take off point Thank you once again :)

FSX Steam Freezing on Windows 10

Thanks for the reply, I have the settings all on minimal/sparse other than building densities which I have set to normal, i run it with DX10 off. I use only default scenery etc except for my aircraft ... mostly pmdg or aerosoft ... i have all cloud and weather details set to minimum I will run it again and see if it gives me any details about the crash, I will also look into the guide you have told me about My system specs are AMD A9-9410 RADEON R5, 5 CORE 2C+3G 2.90 GHZ 8GB RAM (7.46 free) 64 BIT System and x64 Based Processor Thanks!
  4. Hey guys Basically everytime I fire up FSX, I get 35 mins max time on fsx before it crashes. I have read numerous forums and taken lots of advice, the biggest being to not install FSX into my C drive. I tried installing it to my D drive but steam wouldn't allow me to saying there was insufficient space (I'm not sure how because I have 23gb free space in that drive). So for now it's in the C drive and keeps crashing. I have tried tweaking my cfg file using the numerous tools out there but with no success. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  5. Hey guys, my sim just crashes after about 30 mins playing, it just stops and my mouse hand turns to a spinning wheel endlessly and I have to get out by hitting the windows button on my keyboard. It usually happens after about 20/30 mins too. There is no 'fatal error message' or anything though, it just stops with the noise still going on in the background for a short while then it totally stops. My knowledge on most things PC based is extremely limited but I have certainly tried. I have read something about an automationcore file (no clue what it does), initially some guy said to take it out then I read elsewhere that I shouldn't, I really don't know though what to do. My system is windows 10, AMD A9 RADEON R5 5 COMPUTE CORES 2.9GHZ 8GB RAM I use the PMDG 777, 737 and AEROSOFT 320/21. I will note it happens more with the PMDG products than with the 320, although it still happens with the aero 320 quite a lot. I have pulled back the display settings the whole way to see if it makes any difference but it hasn't. I would greatly appreciate any help!

    FSX Freeze - ~20 minutes

Hey guys, I'm having a very similar issue to the OP, except mine doesn't give me any details about what has caused the crash, it just stops and my mouse hand turns to a spinning wheel endlessly and I have to get out by hitting the windows button on my keyboard. It usually happens after about 20/30 mins too. My knowledge on most things PC based is extremely limited but have certainly tried. I have read something about an automationcore file (no clue what it does), initially some guy said to take it out then I read elsewhere that I shouldn't, I really don't know though what to do. I will note it happens more with the PMDG products than with the 320, although it still happens with the aero 320 quite a lot. I have pulled back the display settings the whole way to see if it makes any difference but it hasn't. I didn't wanna start a new thread with the same issue so just thought i'd post here I would greatly appreciate any help!

PMDG 737/777 For FSX Steam Query

Hello all, I really appreciate all the replies! I took the advice given here and logged into my account, I simply downloaded it as normal, followed all the prompts to install etc and opened FSX SE and the aircraft were there. I did quick a quick practice run on the 777, shut down the engines, restarted them, packs and bleeds on/off, apu etc etc and all was working fine, did a quick circuit and all seemed tip top. I didn't see anything about moving 3 files as was mentioned above, can I assume it did it automatically or will i encounter an issue at some stage? in which case i should probably look into it
  9. Hello all, Basically I've been away from the simming scene for about 3 years. I just rejoined today and purchased the FSX Steam edition. Previously I had purchased the 737 and 777 sims from PMDG. I simply accessed my account there and tried to re-download them. My query is how do I get them to work for FSX Steam. They were purchased for FSX ... surely there's a method to get them to work on steam? I did find a forum on the steam gaming site about how to do it for the 777 but it presumed i had already made some changes to files in my pc which I hadn't, and i couldn't find out exactly what they required to be done. I searched the PMDG ops centre but couldn't find any downloads relating to updates for my purchases to work on steam. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it Thanks
