  1. Marking this as resolved. Thanks for the help! What I did: 1) Disabled shadows for the time being - will slowly introduce them after some more testing. 2) Changed to 30Hz 3) Unlimited FPS in P3D (although from what I see, Rob indicated that this need only be 30FPS due to 30Hz) 4) As per Dan, set max power in NCP 5) VSync and Triple Buffering both ON.
  2. Thanks Dan, already had this running like you said.
  3. Will do the search now. Thank you for the help, it has made an improvement.
  4. Thank you Dan, apologies for my noobiness, what is NCP stand for? (Nvidia Control Panel?)
  5. Thanks for the reply. GTX970 (4GB) on 24" monitor was 50FPS. GTX 1080 (8GB) on 43" TV @ 4k is just over 20FPS. Doubled the VRAM, but lost more than half my FPS in the move to the 4K TV. This is such an awesome sim and I know I will find a workable solution, just keen to hear if anyone else has been on this path before.
  6. I dropped the shadows and that has helped a lot. Now fluctuating 30-60FPS. Question still stands, is there any way with my setup that I can get similar FPS on the bigger screen with the same settings?
  7. 4770K @ 4.2Ghz with GTX 1080 and 32GB Ram. (P3D V4) Guys, I replaced my 24" monitor with a 43" 4K TV. After the change, my FPS dropped from 50 to about 20. I then changed my GTX970 to a GTX1080 thinking this was the issue. FPS increased slightly (Now at about 25fps). This is ok and I can live with it, but has anyone else got any ideas? Is it my processor that is not coping with the bigger screen or is there a setting I can change? I have dialed back my sliders and not much changed. Yes, I get brilliant imagery, but at a cost. I tried to fix this myself, but no matter what I do, I am stuck at 15-30fps. The TV is running at 60Hz. Am I missing something here or is this something i have to live with? (I use PMDG B777 and B737, AS16, Immersion, REX, PTA - some add-on scenery, however Aerosoft EDDF kills my FPS to 10) Thanks in advance Robin
  8. Agreed. It really is a good add-on, hope they get it sorted soon.
  9. I did look at the forum.......I am well aware of this. The assurance from the dev that he should/could/maybe have an offline solution that could/should/maybe be ready in November does not help. What does help is a solution. My point being that no matter what the forum says, it does not fix the issue now. Chaseplane is a great program, but until they do in fact sort out this offline issue, it will remain a problem (for me).
  10. It just came back online. Try now.
  11. That is what I am getting too and I have had Chaseplane for a while now.
  12. Look at the forum from a few days or so ago and you will see what i am talking about. Chaseplane has no offline feature, so if they go off, so does my sim. (I am on the EZDOK site now, I see there is a coupon available since I had EZDOK V1, so going to V2 looks very affordable - correct, nothing stopping me.) I have not updated to P3D V4.1 yet. I really hope it is not that as I don't want to move over to 4.1 until I can do the proper move (as explained by Matt Davies)
  13. Here we go again! This flippin program (Chaseplane) has an issue -and that is why you most likely cannot download it. It requires an internet connection, which is fine, but when it has an issue, everything (my sim included) is completely grounded. Second time in a week. I may have to look at going back to EZDOK.
  14. Thank you for all the help guys. I know from years of simming, when a solution is found, it helps everyone to post it. I do have ORBX, but it was not the issue. The fact that P3D V4 ran at 7FPS in itself is actually opened my eyes to how powerful the sim is. Here is why: I have only downloaded add-ons that are fully V4 compatible, and three of them were huge. (DRZEWIECKI NY Airports, Washington and NYC). I had a brilliant FSX setup that very seldom had OOM. However, using the NY Airports and PMDG B777 only, had the FSX go OOM. V4 However, ran all of it, so to any noobs (like me), uncheck huge airports not being used. (found in Options >Add Ons, not like FSX which used the scenery library) After I unchecked them, my frame rates came back. Thanks Michael, yes 1920x1080 and did as you said. And I know that P3D is the best sim, I have known that for a while now. (been patiently waiting for 64Bit) Bert, Thanks, made those adjustments too. Running at 45FPS now at the new settings. Will take her into some heavy weather with AS16 today and see how we go. Then after that will do a 14hr flight to make sure nothing gives in. (Nothing worse than 12hrs in and sim gives in, although that is why I moved to 64bit) Thanks again guys, what a super knowledge base AVSIM has!
  15. Just to add, After I deactivated the 3 big add-ons, I can max the sliders and get 25-30fps. Thanks to PMB and Michael for the quick response. (And Lenny). I will get the overclocking done this week and continue to play with the settings, but it seems that it was the add-ons.
