  1. I'm looking to buy the beautiful Reality XP GNS 530W XP/GNS WAAS for FSX, however I'm flying FSX Steam Edition. Will this product work in FSX Steam Edition (FSX-SE)? I searched through the knowledge base but no joy. Thanks!
  2. Alabeo and Carenado have now advised me that the issue will be fixed with the next version release. I appreciate their candid response; they do fantastic work!
  3. I tried that earlier this week--requested an aircraft in trade for one of the same price, but no response regarding that request yet. I didn't realize others have been doing the same--with success. I already own nearly a full stable of X-Plane aircraft from Alabeo & Carenado, so I'm hoping they oblige my FSX request.
  4. FYI, I've tried various screen resolutions, and evening running FSX-SE in non-DX10 Preview mode, but no joy. All that Alabeo Support has told me thus far is that they can't reproduce the problem themselves; otherwise they've been somewhat uncommunicative, so I'm not sure if they're still looking into it or written me off.
  5. Alabeo tech support has been helping me with this. They tell me I'm the only customer who's opened a ticket with this issue; maybe something to do with my hardware? For what it's worth, I'm guessing this issue may seem minor to some, but as I'm a graphic artist/illustrator this kind of misalignment is distracting, particularly in the context of such an otherwise awesome product (I highly recommend!). **************** SYSTEM SPECS **************** Windows 10 Home 64 bit 10.0.14393 Build 14393 Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3 GHz ASUS X99-A Motherboard 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) 850w Power Supply GeForce GTX 780 driver version 373.06 Monitor: Dell UltraSharp 27 QHD U2715H Resolution: 2560x1440 (monitor native) G602 Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse Logitech G510 USB Wired Gaming Keyboard Saitek X52 Pro Flight System (throttle & joystick) Razer Tartarus Gaming Keypad ***********************************************
  6. Thanks Todd. Indeed, I start all my aircraft cold & dark, and with the Phenom I have since learned that it has no avionics switch for the reason you describe. What I'm a tad unhappy about is that Carenado created an (expensive) aircraft model that while it omits an avionics switch as in the real thing, it otherwise makes no allowance for this fact. As a result, flipping the battery switch in the cockpit lights up the MFDs, but a flip of a phantom avionics switch is yet required. Whether this is a limitation inherent in the FSX engine and/or an oversight by Carenado, I would have sincerely appreciated a heads up. As the generally happy owner of the majority of aircraft produced for X-Plane by Carenado (and Alabeo) I know that detailed documentation has never been their strong suit; guess I was hoping things might be a tad different for aircraft produced for FSX.
  7. And now I'm connected to Carenado support. Apparently when zendesk says they'll be sending you a registration e-mail immediately that means in about three hours.
  8. Okay, I finally connected with Alabeo. Hopefully they can help me with a Carenado issue.
  9. I'm a long-time Alabeo (and Carenado) customer and I'm trying to contact them via their online support ticket system (https://alabeo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us). Unfortunately their system is unresponsive--it won't accept my existing support account login nor allow me to create a new one (though in each case it tells me that it's sent me an e-mail, and I do not use a spam filter). Carenado's support site has the same problem. Any other way to contact Alabeo? Thanks.
  10. I'm a long-time Carenado customer and I'm trying to contact them via their online support ticket system (https://carenado.zendesk.com/hc/en-us). Unfortunately their system is unresponsive--it won't accept my existing support account login nor allow me to create a new one (though in each case it tells me that it's sent me an e-mail, and I do not use a spam filter). This is frustrating. Any other way to contact Carenado? Thanks.
  11. Yesterday (10/10/2016) I purchased the Phenom 100 for FSX Steam Edition from Carenado's online store and while I'm loving this aircraft, when I first tried manually starting it up I was obliged to spend a considerable amount of time debugging a faulty center MFD. After reviewing the accompanying checklists and documentation, uninstalling and re-installing the product, I finally learned (online) that the avionics switch must be enabled for the MFD, and backup CDI, to function properly. Say what? As the checklist makes no reference to the avionics switch nor is there one to be found in the cockpit, it must be turned on via a keyboard command. Turning on the avionics via keyboard is fine, but why was an expensive ($40 USD) product released with such a glaring omission? My apologies if Carenado addressed this issue in the documentation, but thus far I've found none. I'm sure your time is valuable, but so is mine. Thank you for your time.
  12. Yesterday (10/10/2016) I purchased the Phenom 100 Steam Edition from Carenado's online store and while I'm loving this aircraft, one thing that concerns me is that the weather radar and other displays on the center MFD are out of alignment, i.e., they are partially covered up by the engine data on the left side of the MFD: Meanwhile the weather radar is perfectly centered on the Carenado promotional material. Did I do something wrong? I've alternately tried installing the Phenom 100 for FSX Steam Edition and for FSX standard, but the problem remains. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  13. Yep, the HOTAS mixture axis setting was the issue. Flies like a dream now.
  14. It just occurred to me that I had my mixture/condition levers zeroed out on my HOTAS. While (so far as I know) the DO288 doesn't have condition levers, I have seen this affect other aircraft despite the fact it shouldn't technically matter. I'll check next time I fly.
