  1. 1900 x 1200 display. Changed the height of the G1000 guages to 400 to make them squished by default. Then when FSX displays the panel in widescreen they will be the correct aspect ratio. I commented out the steam gauges as they were flickering and some other bits are obscure but this is the right direction. Need to move and resize the AP so it can be accessed. Progress here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hib74uo6130fp4a/400_height.mp4?dl=1
  2. What exactly do you mean by that? Change the widths and heights in panel.cfg? I found this comment http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?257348-P3D-and-widescreen-monitors&p=1729004#post1729004 Does this mean under the current setup the Mindstar G1000 gets inserted and then stretched? Would it therefore be conceivable to change the size in the panel.cfg so that when the G1000 does get stretched it gets stretched to the correct size? I am not trying or wanting to do anything special and will gladly follow somethnig already established. I just want to have both the PFD and MFD large enough for legible text and a small cockpit forward view ( I plan to set the weather to overcast to 200AGL most of the time so just want to be able to look up at DH at the right time) Are there any example configuations, should I be looking at 2 x 4:3 monitors?
  3. Hello, It was actually set at 1920x1200 which is the native resolution of the Dell monitor but you can lose the extra pixels and set it to standard HD 1920x1080. I have performed the same test again. (14mb - will download) https://www.dropbox.com/s/m1zi2jm2koyppix/1920_x1080.mp4?dl=1 How do I configure the panel so it defaults to the correct size? Thanks.
  4. Hi, I have setup a single widescreen 24 inch monitor with a resolution of 1900x1200. It seems the best size to get both the PDF and MFD on the screen at the same time and it is large enough to product readable text using the default 182. However the G1000 2D Panel's aspect ratio in the default 182 at this wide resolution is incorrect and the panel is "squished" - I have found posts on Avsim talking about widescreen displays in FSX but they don't seem to have an effect http://forum.avsim.net/topic/258868-fsx-in-widescreen/ You can roughly get the aspect ratio correct by manually adjusting the panel - see video for example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c59jhkmn6h2r6t3/fsx%202015-07-09%2001-35-39-794.mp4?dl=0 But this is not accurate as you can see I am just guessing, it also obscures the forward view from the cockpit window and doing this is a pain every time you fly. What is the correct procedure to get the 2D panel in widescreen with the G1000 and the outside view with the correct aspect ratio? Do you have to alter the panel.cfg numbers for 16:9 displays or is there a single setting in panel.cfg that will make all this work automatically? I saw from here: http://www.mindstaraviation.com/G1000_Retrofit.html There is a value called "window_size_ratio" but not sure is this applies. Thanks.
  5. RealNav Data installed. GPS approach to some random field in the middle of Georgia selected and worked like a charm. Excellent.
  6. Hi, Should you also install the base updates from http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html If you are going to use recent RealNav data?
