  1. Hi all- I have about $620 to spend to upgrade my PC for BOTH FSX and P3D. As of now I have and i5 4690k overclocked to 4.0ghz with a cooler master hyper 212 Evo. I have 8gb of DDR3-1600mhz RAM, and no GPU. My first priority is to get a GPU (looking at the GTX 1060 6gb) which will cost around $250. I was thinking of upgrading to a i5 6600k, get a new mobo, and DDR4 RAM but I am not sure the CPU upgrade is worth it and if i should just invest more into a graphics card and better cooler. Thanks! -Kyle
  2. Right now I have an HP Pavillion 15 beats edition laptop. 3. Hello everybody I was just looking for advice for a new PC build so that I could run P3D well with addons like PMDG, GSX, etc. I have a budget of $800 and do not need any peripherals or an OS. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks! -Kyle
  4. Thanks for your replies! To answer Ryans questions, yes it would only be for FSX/P3D. Also, I have a copy of windows 7 already so the os is not a problem. Thanks! -Kyle
  5. Hi all I am looking for any advice for decent PC parts but the challenge is that a only have a budget of $800 dollars. This will be my first PC build so any advice is welcome and appreciated! Thanks! -Kyle
  6. Ok. That makes sense. Thanks for your advice! Thanks and Happy Holidays!
  7. Ok so I will use a SSD for my OS and sim. I have another question, do you guys think it is worth the extra money for the i7 4970k or just the 4970? I am not sure if it would be worth it to spend $40 extra to be able to overclock. Do you think the 4790 would be enough to run p3d smoothly or should I get the 4790k? Thanks and Happy Holidays! -Kyle
  8. Thank you all for your feedback! Robert, I will take a look at the source you mentioned. And Rich, I will look into the SSD. I have heard that having both HDD and a SSD is recommended, would you guys also recommend having 2 storage drives? Thanks and Happy Holidays! -Kyle
  9. Thanks Ryan for your quick response I will update my list! Thanks and Happy Holidays! -Kyle
  10. Hi everybody, I have been doing some research regarding computer parts and how to build a computer so I can build my own PC for P3D. I have made a list (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9rgRrH) of the parts that I think would be good in this PC. Due to my lack of computer knowledge and this being my first time building a PC, I am asking for any advice and/or comments to help finalize my list. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! -Kyle
