Today Wing42.com is normal. Puzzling 🤨 You’d think there would at least be a comment on the News page as to what occurred. The last entry is April 2022.

https://wing42.com website no longer has content. The website opening page is as follows…
I’m guessing Vitus has left the building!

Aircraft Airfile Manager (AAM) has been reborn for MSFS 2020 thanks to Karl-Heinz Klotz. Karl simplified editing the .air files for fs9, fsx, and P3D. You can now easily edit your flight_model.cfg and engines.cfg on the fly. Once again you can view your tables graphicly and adjust your values by simply dragging points on a graph. Available on flightsim.to as freeware! Thank you Karl!

Well AAM is alive and well with MSFS 2020! Karl has done his magic and it is available as freeware on flightsim.to!

Precisely why MSFS 2020 needs a manual!

Well if I ever need a surgeon for my “mid century modern” self, I’ll be sure they were educated before YouTube’s creation!

If the OP want's one in print form that's his business, not yours nor mine, The fact is that not including ANY type of manual (either printed or digital) is a major MS screwup. And I'm not being sarcastic. I've been around this business long enough to know that the lack of any sort of written documentation is going to cause a lot of folks to just give up in frustration.
I was a part of the Alpha from day one and yep, it was non-intuitive enough I found it frustrating. This program is detailed and needs explanation. I don’t think any quality third party developer releases a scenery and certainly an aircraft without documentation.
Being part of the Alpha shouldn’t have been figuring out how it works but if it works as it should. A paying customer certainly shouldn’t have to spend hours figuring out through trial and error how the sim works. Nor should they have to wait until someone who enjoys that kind of thing publishes tips or creates a YouTube video or worse pay $20 for the documentation MS should have included in the first place. I may not print the documentation but I sure would reference it.MS has said this simulation should help usher new flight simmers into the hobby. Well imagine starting into flight simulation with no experience and starting up MSFS for the first time. You might be overwhelmed. Even you SeanMo. This is a major oversight!

I do give QW credit for creating a very beautiful aircraft. I was hoping that behind the pretty exterior their was more functionality. I’m hoping that they will dig deeper into the workings of the 787 and produce a study level version for those that want the details. Personally I think having two levels of detail for the same aircraft is appropriate. You literally get what you pay for and know what your paying for up front.
Having to modify the config file is really inappropriate. PMDG got this right with a menu in the MCDU that is even accessible from an unpowered aircraft. Oh well, perhaps someone will create a study level 787 eventually.

I would gladly pay twice as much for a higher “Quality” 787. Without getting into the FMC, things that should have been easy to program are not programmed. When I push a button on the MCP it should be animated. When I operate the tuning control panel (TCP) I should at least see complete, selectable menu items, i.e. cabin >Directory. Sure, I’m not going to call a flight attendant, but the visuals should be present and accurate. Adding standby frequencies to radios only allows one page, not three, and you can only scroll through frequencies on VHF Left vs VHF, L,C, and R. HF is not available at all.
At $80.00, these types of things should work.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback! I need to head over to the P3D forum as well. I tend to use Avsim as my “go to.” It is some how comforting knowing I’m not alone. I’m sure it will ultimately get worked out.
Cheers,

I've updated my drivers which didn't help. I've disabled MSI Afterburner which did not help. Is no one else having this problem? I'm using P3Dv5 HF1, NVidia driver 445.87, Win10v1909 build 18363.836.
Any additional input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don

I’ve never used FreeMeshX. Does the installer for version 2.0 install into p3dv5?
thanks,

"Try a clean un-install and then re-install your driver suite. I had this once...and doing what I suggest did the trick. Your driver installation could be 'dirty'.... "
I'll do this as well. Thank You!

Thank you. Hadn't considered Afterburner. I have the latest Nvidia driver installed. As luck would have it, when I restarted my computer after installing P3Dv5, MS started a Win10 update! I thought perhaps the Win10 might have screwed something up. I'll update Afterburner.

Thanks Rob,
I remember my old soundblaster card from the 90s(?) It had memory slots so you could add more memory if needed. Back then that was more for people using the card for midi purposes and I believe it allowed the storage of more music samples.
Very disappointing that the 2080ti has the slots but the option to fill them doesn’t exist! Sounds like the days when Intel disabled their math coprocessors to make a DX chip an SX chip. It is all about the money isn’t it!
I’ll just keep hoping.

Why won’t Nvidia put more memory on their 2080 cards? It appears flight simulation is more in need of graphics memory than graphics processing power. I don’t need the processing power of a Titan RTX but I could use it’s memory! Give me a 16 or 24 gig option on a 2080ti. Though TombRaider and the like may do fine with 6,8,11 gigs, flight simulation needs more as many of us have witnessed and Rob has demonstrated. Nvidea needs to start taking flight simming seriously!

Test, Test, Mike Test...😉
Shaun, you indicated you discovered the reason for the shadows problem about a year ago. Since I’m the only one active on this topic perhaps fixing it just isn’t important. An update on whether you’ll resolve this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Shaun,
This is a pretty old thread by now. I'm thinking that I'm the only one interested in the concrete at KORF having shadows. It was 10 months ago that you said you discovered what the issue was. Do you have any plans for correcting it? I really enjoy flying from my home base but this really degrades the experience. Thanks for your consideration.
Respectfully,
Don

You guys are conversing so above my head! I own tons of ORBX scenery as well as a lot of others. Haven’t loaded the new ORBX central but don’t understand all the reasons I perhaps shouldn’t. Where can a basic operator like me go to learn in simple terms how scenery is supposed to be installed and prioritized? What the impact is having one scenery above/below another and how to change it? Does a document like that exist?
thanks
Don
Wing42 appears to no longer exist
