  1. Hi, I am in the same boat / same error. I have just purchased the Lancair IV aircraft on DVD but I don't think it's compatible with FTX Central 3 with P3D v3.4. Have I wasted my money?
  2. I am finding that PF3 with MCE a really good combination with Flyinside. I want to do everything myself and by voice control. I have the GTN750 as a virtual window where I can set the frequency and PF3 opens a small FSUIPC window which shows the closed caption of the communication from ATC. I also have FS Captain FDU open as well. The GTN commands the autopilot not the G1000 in the aircraft. For flight planning I have now switched to a purchased copy of FS Commander and wrote a simple Python script which converts the .pln from FS Commander into Lat/Lon user waypoints which can be directly imported into the GTN750. I do this because the GTN database is not an exact match for P3D and small airports simply don't exist. This works perfectly. The only downside is you can't click on the flight plan waypoints in the GTN to get additional information. So I go to the map and click directly there - if that makes sense. I have switched to a Jabra Biz2400 headset which gives much better accuracy with voice recognition. This setup means I don't have to use a keyboard hardly at all. However, I have mapped the gear, flaps, lights to the number pad keys on a keyboard in front of me. It didn't take too long to control these simple actions without peeking.
  3. I have used Pilot2ATC, VoxATC, RC4, Default and now PF3. Over the last week I have coupled PF3 with MCE and I really like it for both VFR and IFR in general aviation. Using it with Flyinside so I can't see the keyboard - everything is controlled by real world phrases. Wouldn't go back now.
  4. For anyone else reading this thread it is critical that: 1. Change PF3 hotkeys to something like shift+c, shift+v etc 2. Remove corresponding conflicting key assignments in P3D After doing that I now get the taxi monitor. Onwards and upwards!
  5. I have exactly the same issue as the OP. I installed the current version of both MCE and PF3 yesterday (full version of PF3). So can I ask what the status is with contacting Tower from the holding point or is there a work around? Thank you
  6. Hi, I had an IFR flight to YPPF which had both ground and tower controllers but no approach controller. At about 100 miles out I checked the frequency and saw no approach controller so I set a user way point at the end of the indicated approach direction line. I thought I would contact tower when I was closer and request RNAV for 21R. So I switched from center to the tower frequency and made contact. It gave me a transition which I added to the flight plan. I was told I was off course and it began directing me in the opposite direction to the active and I was still at 6000' (runway was 57'). The approach direction line then disappeared a new red approach line appeared for a different runway. I tried clicking the Approach button on P2ATC but it didn't show anything. I decended, manually lined up on the red approach line and landed. What should I have done and what phrases would have worked in this situation? Thank you
  7. Contrary to the what others have said about VoxATC, it does work well and reliably with P3D v3.3. You don't need to use the migration tool or do anything too hard. I used the very last version of VoxATC. The method below overcomes the problems others have had with the indexer not working. I use VoxATC with the GTN750 and the HTC Vive. There is nothing like talking to ATC and be guided by what to say and what to tune the radio to. I get excellent recognition with the USB HyperX headset and very rarely have to repeat. Here goes: I installed P3D into C:\Prepar3D v3 You don't need to create the v2 folders before executing the following commands, mklink will do it. Make sure you include the quotes - it won't work if you leave them out. Run the following commands one by one in an admin command prompt - you will need to change 'username' in the strings below to your own installed name. mklink /d "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2" "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3" mklink /d "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2" "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3" mklink /d "C:\Users\username\Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files" "C:\Users\username\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files" mklink /d "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2" "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3" mklink /d "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2" "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3" mklink /d "C:\Prepar3D v2" "C:\Prepar3D v3" After running the commands you can check that the folders were created. If you explore inside the new folders it will be a mirror image of the folder it is linked to. I used this method and it works fine. Now install VoxATC as per normal. I am not into online flying with VATSIM yet and love VoxATC. I came back from XPlane because of VoxATC, AS16 and FlyInside. Good luck!
  8. Thanks for helping me, Dave. I have fixed it. The clue was changing the call sign. When I changed it in Config, it didn't change in the info window at the bottom. So after installing/uninstalling a few times and getting the SQL dB id error, I figured that the dB settings were in the registry somewhere. It was it that point that I uninstalled again and this time installed using the same folder name I used when I first installed it. Now it is working in all respects including the yellow plane icon. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. If anyone else is reading this here are a few tips: Install with administrator privileges Don't simply delete the Pilot2ATC folder, use the uninstaller in the folder Don't install the new 2.0 version over the old 1.4 - uninstall the old one first Let Pilot2ATC install into its default folder
  9. Thanks Dave. I uninstalled and started again. I installed 2.001 in the default location, and ran it as administrator. Closed. Changed the folder permissions so the Pilot2ATC user had full modify rights. I didn't update it to 2.011. Ran it again as admin, the Speech window only has the Simulator Connected message (nothing else) and the behaviour with the aircraft icon not showing/not moving remains. I closed the program and started 1.43 immediately afterwards and everything is fine - moving map, loading grammar etc. I thought the folder permissions would fix it, but sadly not. Ted
  10. Hi Dave, I have a Win10x64 pc dedicated to Pilot2ATC with its own display. This set up works in all respects in my multi pc cockpit over a network with X-Plane 10.45 when I run Pilot2ATC v1.43. The voice control etc works fine with great recognition. I have installed v2.008 into a separate folder at the root of C and Pilot2ATC starts fine and communicates with XP. It reads radio frequencies, it can write the altitude and climb rate to the AP BUT it won't load the grammar files nor will it put the yellow plane icon on the map and move the map. If I continually click on the "centre map on aircraft" button the map moves and centres the position of the aircraft at the red cross but it won't do this on its own. I am able to create a flight plan and file it but the voice comms won't work without the grammar. So I am stuck with v1.43 which is fine, but I would love to get all the benefits of the new version. Any troubleshooting advice would be greatly appreciated. Ted
