Questions you've always wanted to ask an Airbus Captain (A319/320/321)
I'm interviewing an Airbus Captain tomorrow (A319/320/321) for an upcoming publication. Are there any questions you've always wanted to ask? If there are, let me know and I'll cover as many as I can, and will let anyone who replies know when the answers are published. ------- Charlie

UK/Europe tutorials
Thanks both. Maarten - by flightplan do you mean the plan as entered in the FMC, or is there some additional software I can use to help with planning e.g. to work out what waypoints to use? 777200lrf - could you send more details of the Norwegian DVDs, if that is allowed on the forum? They sound quite useful. Charlie

Engine shutdown/failure - no yaw?
Hi Jaime, Thanks so much for your help. I went through the same steps again today looking at the "sail boat" (good name for it) and it behaved as you suggested in your message. Not sure what happened last time. Thanks again, Charlie

Engine shutdown/failure - no yaw?
I would like to practise asymmetric flight (engine failures). When I shut down an engine, there does not appear to be any yaw. Can anyone suggest whether my settings generate an automated response, and if so how can I turn this off so I can respond manually? Flight conditions: - FSX autorudder un-checked (off) - Cruising at 39,000ft - Autothrottle set - Autopilot (RNAV and VNAV) set - Yaw dampener ON Actions taken: - Yaw dampener OFF - Autothrottle disconnect - Autopilot disconnect - Engine start lever to cutoff on engine 1 Observations: - Engine 1 thrust 2%, engine 2 thrust 102% - Aircraft shows slight bank - Rudder trim shows zero units The aircraft doesn't appear to yaw at all. Are there other settings I need to change so that the aircraft yaws as expected? Thanks lots, Charlie Woods

UK/Europe tutorials
Can anyone suggest any UK/Europe tutorials for PMDG 737NGX? I've done the two tutorials that come with the software, and also found the Fred Clausen and Timothy Metzinger tutorials (which are US-based). I'd like to find some more UK and Europe tutorials too - although flying the aircraft is unrelated to location, I'd like to use the tutorials to become more familiar with airways, waypoints, airports, etc in the Europe and I'm not quite ready to just experiment myself yet!
